Ducati Panigale V4 R Overview
Ducati has launched its flagship superbike Panigale V4 R at an introductory price of Rs 51.87 lakh (ex-showroom India). The bike was showcased at EICM 2018. The Panigale V4 R is a completely road-legal WSBK category racing bike and it retains the technical characteristics of the official Ducati Superbikes that will compete in the 2019 season. The highlight of this bike is its 998cc engine which has brought it within displacement limits established by WSBK championship rules.
The bike will be limited to five units in India. Booking for the new bike is open across all the dealerships in India. For bookings done before 30th November, the deliveries will begin in first quarter of 2019.
Ducati Panigale V4 R Styling & Comfort
In terms of looks, the Ducati Panigale V4 R is aggressive and it is sure to catch the attention of biking enthusiasts. The bike features triangular headlamp pods, LED DRLs, revised side fairing and also a dual-tone fuel tank which adds to its appeal. The bike comes with a new fairing having elements of MotoGP origin and an aero package which functions to improve the aerodynamic efficiency of this bike. Even the front cowl has distinct aerodynamic design. The specially designed air vents on the fairing aid to dissipate the heat out from the engine.
The new the Ducati Panigale V4 R has a wheelbase of 1471mm and a saddle height of 830 mm. The dry weight of the bike is 172 kg and it comes with a 16-litre fuel tank. The bike also comes with lightweight forged Marchesini wheels to suit its thrilling performance.
Ducati Panigale V4 R Performance and Handling
The V4 was already one of the most powerful production bikes in the world and the R version takes it even further. The bike is a stunning performer, offering thrilling acceleration, impressive handling and has an excellent power to weight ratio. The bike features a comprehensive electronics package like riding modes, power modes, launch control, wheelie control, quick shift and side control and as well as a five-level traction control.
With respect to suspension, the bike employs fully adjustable 43mm Ohlins at the front and fully adjustable Ohlins unit at the rear. The bike rides on Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires at the front as well at the rear.

At the heart of this Panigale V4 R is a 998cc, liquid cooled V4 engine that churns out peak power of 217 bhp at 15250 rpm and a peak torque of 112 Nm at 11500rpm. The engine uses an electronic fuel injection system and a ride-by-wire throttle system. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 6-speed transmission via a slipper clutch. The bike also features an optional titanium Akrapovic exhaust which can boost power to 234 PS.
Ducati Panigale V4 R Braking & Safety
The braking setup consists of twin 330 mm semi-floating disc brakes with 4-piston Brembo callipers at the front and a 245 mm disc at the rear with 2-piston callipers. The bike features a host of electronic aids such as Bosch cornering ABS, adjustable engine brake control and auto tyre calibration.
