Ducati XDiavel Overview
The Italian automaker, Ducati introduced the dedicated cruiser version of Diavel in India, named XDiavel. It was the first time, Ducati experimented with a very different color theme as it came with an exclusive all-black theme instead of the traditional Ducati red. The bike being a hard core cruiser offers a more laid back riding position than the Diavel. For supreme comfort and easy ergonomics the bike has a very low saddle height and has foot pegs set forward that makes the rider feel at home on long stretched highways. It draws its power from the same engine as seen on the Multistrada 1200 but has been tuned as per a cruiser’s need.
Ducati XDiavel Engine & Transmission
The twin-cylinder Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262 is the same engine which also powers the Ducati Multistrada but has been retuned to get a stronger torque push at the lower rpm range. The engine is Euro 4 type-approved and features DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) system. The Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262 has a maximum power of 155 bhp at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 128Nm at 5,000 rpm. The DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) system features the Dual Spark (DS) system (i.e. two plugs per cylinder) and employs a secondary air system. The use of secondary air system reduces the level of pollutants by introducing fresh air into the exhaust duct to complete oxidation of unburned hydrocarbons. This drastically reduces the level of pollutants such as HC and CO without hampering the engine performance. The bike utilizes a 6-speed gearbox and also comes with the same gear sensor as first seen on the 1299 Panigale. The clutch on XDiavel is of the oil bath type with slipper functionality.
Ducati XDiavel Mileage
Ducati XDiavel has been equipped with world class technology and features. Starting from the display unit, its dashboard consists of a TFT screen with a separate warning light module which has been placed above the handlebar. The dashboard unit is comprised of four display modes including the default mode which provides a minimal level of information, while the other three are the classic Track, Full and City display modes. Talking about other features, the XDiavel hosts a long list of features including Brembo braking system with the ABS, hands-free ignition, DRL (Daytime Running Light), three level cornering ABS, Bosch IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) and Ducati Power Launch (DPL).
