Powered by the famed Air cooled Evolution V-twin unit displacing 1202 cc the Harley Davidson 1200 Custom shares it engine from Forty-Eight. It features a bore X stroke ratio of 88.9 X 96.8 mm and a compression ratio of 10:1 this ESPFI (Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection) engine manages to crank out a behemoth 96 NM of torque @ 3,750 rpm. Boasting all-aluminium engine heads & cylinders for enhanced cooling the engine unit stays cool & unstressed to keep performance at an all time high.

The Harley Davidson 1200 Custom returns an overall 20 kmpl under standard conditions (US Cycle). Users can expect between 16-19 kmpl in the city with highway runs returning 19-22 kmpl.

The Harley Davidson 1200 Custom makes a sweet sounding exhaust note throughout its operation range and can do speeds in excess of 170kmph with ease while the vibration are never to evident to cause any particular annoyance to the rider. Another thing that suits the 1200 Custom's touring capabilities is the presence of a 17 liter tank and a comfortable pillion seat as well. While the handling is on the nimbler side for a cruiser and a brilliant suspension setup works well in Indian conditions as well.
