Hero Electric E-Sprint Overview
Hero Electric E-Sprint is only the second scooter in the entire lineup of the company that could record a highest speed of 45kmph. It also bears the company's aerodynamic and sleek body design which compliments well the motor under the hood. It boasts a VRLA 33AH-48V battery that produces 800 Watt (1500 Watt Peak) that can be fully charged in a time period of 8 hours. The speed scooter comes with two driving modes to accommodate the rider - Power and Economy. In power mode, E-sprint can attain the aforementioned top speed while covering a distance of 65 kilometers in one cycle while fully charged. On the other hand, the economy mode helps the rider achieve a much longer distance of 80 kilometers but the top speed is not the same. The scooter flaunts steel alloy wheels of size 10 inch x 3 inch (diameter). It is quite feature rich scooter as compared to the rest of the electric scooters. It comes loaded with exquisite features such as a secure cell phone charger, telescopic shock absorbers, hydraulic front disc brakes and sensor braking system. The mobile charger proves to be quite handy in tough times when there is no charging resource anywhere closer. The shock absorbers work effectively and doesn't let the rider or co-passenger feel any minor bumps on the deteriorated roads. Hero Electric offers the scooter with a total of three eye-soothing colors - Silver, Black and Grey. If an individual desires to ride this e-scooter, its mandatory to have a valid driving license. Also, it is essential to register the vehicle in the RTO before riding it. The scooter comes at a sticker price of Rs. 38,997 (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). The company claims that it has launched the scooter to compete with the petrol scooters in India and going by the top speed of 45kmph in accordance with the noise free ride and low maintenance cost; it seems to be a step ahead of the petrol ones. Although, there is a bit of problem in the after sales services and spare part department as Hero electric doesn't have sales outlets and service centers at several rural and semi-rural regions. Also, its compatibility with the rough and sandy terrains is not that good. Hence, its a product made for urban areas keeping in mind the good roads and even terrains. Hero Electric, however, is eyeing to open as many as possible dealerships and service outlets in rural and semi-rural areas in order to extend its sales and create awareness among people regarding this eco-friendly mean machine. It sales have boosted up quite nicely due to the ever rising prices of petrol which affects the mind of people severely. It requires a battery change after every two years which costs approx. Rs. 14,000.
