HeroElectric Maxi Overview
Hero Electric, the Indian automajor, owns a lion's share in the electric vehicle segment of two-wheelers in India. The reason is obvious, there is no other company that can provide stiff competition to it. The company has quite a big arsenal of electric vehicles and Maxi is one of the most prized asset of the company in that stable. Being the flagship model in the entire range, it was unleashed at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show with only one variant. Hero has presented this stylish electric scooter in three dynamic colors - Black, Red and Blue. The company has also provided the additional facility of purchasing the vehicle via online retailers such as Snapdeal and other similar vendors throughout the country. Hero Electric Maxi comes equipped with a SLA 20AH-48V electric motor that returns a power output of less than 250 Watt. It propels the scooter to achieve a highest speed of 25kmph and runs up to 70 kilometers in one go while charged fully. It is charged though a 48V, 3A charger that charges it completely in a time span of 6 to 8 hours. It has dual drums as the front as well as rear brakes. The battery is portable as far as charging is concerned. Hero has also taken care of the storage space exceptionally well by extra large foot board. It is also exempted of the driving license and can be ridden without owning one. Also, it is not required to get the scooter registered at the RTO in order to make it legal for riding on the roads. Hero Electric has priced the Maxi at Rs. 36,490 (Ex. Showroom, Mumbai). It is a completely noiseless and environment friendly mean machine, created to eradicate pollution, maintain the freshness in the atmosphere and provide an effortless and peaceful ride to the rider and co-passenger. The instrument cluster consists of the speedometer which constantly keeps the rider updated of the speed of the scooter, power gauge and turn indicators. Hero Electric Maxi seems to be a complete scooter albeit the quite unexpectedly low maximum speed of 25kmph. As it is the flagship vehicle, hence a bunch of upgradation could have made it much more fatal and enticing but the company has stick to its policy of keeping things simpler and easier; otherwise, a top speed of around 45kmph, an additional powerful battery variant and Anti-theft alarm would have made it the best scooter of the whole lineup. However, despite being ordinary; it serves its purpose quite well and doesn't provide any single chance of a complaint. Did we forgot to mention that its highly reliable too!
