HeroElectric Optima Plus Overview
Optima Plus is a rugged looking electric scooter offered by the home grown two wheeler giant Hero across the nation. It sports a sleek aerodynamic design, reflecting aggression. It boasts a single large seat that can comfortably carry two individuals. It doesn't feature a start button or self, instead an individual needs to twist the key in order to the get the engine start. Similar to other electric scooters, it doesn't require a number plate or registration. Neither you need a driving license to ride it. The company offers it in two colors - Black and Burgundy. The drum brakes perform duties at the front and the rear in order to provide instant braking. The Optima plus in-houses a SLA 48V-20 AH battery that generates a power output less than 250 Watt or say 0.33 bhp. It has a top speed of 25kmph while it is capable of covering a distance of 70 kilometers in one full charge. The battery is charged via a 48V, 3A charger which takes around 6-8 hours to fully charge it. Moreover, it has a Water-proof Casing for the battery in order to protect it from water during the rainy season. The wheels in the scooter has diameter of 16 inch x 3 inch. Optima Plus has retractable side foot rests in order to provide comfort to the legs of rider and co-passenger. The e-bike sports a multi focal strong headlight to ensure clear visibility during dark night. Reinforced special steel chasis is an added pillar of strength for this scooter. The 7-Stage Painting process ensures rust free body. It can afford a net weight of up to 90 kgs and the storage box capacity is 25 litres. The Optima Plus has a sticker price of Rs. 38,990 (Ex. Showroom, Mumbai). The scooter weighs a mere 65 kgs and range extender mechanism facility is also on offer with it. If you aren't aggressive with your driving and also your memory is pretty sharp about charging the scooter on time, you would never feel disappointed owning a Optima Plus. It is best suitable for roaming across the town on short errands. Also, as it can bear 90 kgs so an adult and a child can commute effortlessly. Furthermore, it is a noise free, pollution less soft driving scooter. It is at loggerheads with the electric scooters on offer from the YO bikes in India. Although, the competition is stiff but Hero's legacy and trust of people makes the battle easy for Hero Electric and it has been selling decent number of vehicles in the country every month.
