Hero Achiever 150 Overview
Hero Motocorp Achiever is one of the budget 150 cc motorcycles available in the country that was widely received by the buyers. The 150cc motorcycle has been in the market for almost seven years now and Hero has launched the refreshed version to boost the sales. It is added with some juicy glitz's and features alongside the powerful engine performance and brisk acceleration. The Hero Motocorp Achiever will be available for INR 61,800 for the drum brake version and INR 62,800 for the disk version. It is one of the cheapest 150cc motorcycles and gives the rider brilliant fuel-efficiency and refinement-aided ride quality. This bike provides top-end performance and it faces a stiff competition from SZ-R, GS 150R or Pulsar at the same price point.
Hero Achiever 150 Engine & Transmission
The new Hero Motocorp Achiever is powered by an updated four- stroke, single cylinder 149.1cc air-cooled,OHC engine which is now BS 4 ready. The power mill is capable to churn out a maximum power output of 13.4 bhp at 8000 rpm. The air cooled engine generates a peak torque output of 12.8 Nm at 5000 rpm. The engine of this bike is equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox, with four gears up and one gear down shift pattern.
Hero Achiever 150 Mileage
This 150cc power engine is mated with taller gear ratios and its slow performance, results to reduce its overall mileage. On the highways, the bike is claimed to generate around 55 kmpl. The fuel efficiency of this bike is certainly impressive for city commuting and it claims to produce around 50 kmpl in city. The Hero Motocorp Achiever is comfortable thanks to wide seat and easy to reach handlebar. The bike is equipped with comfortable palm grip and the riders feel very relaxed.
Hero Achiever 150 Performance and Handling
The 150cc engine takes nearly 6 seconds to reach 0 to 60 kmph and it may be more efficient on the highways. The Achiever is loaded with good suspension, which includes telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front. At the rear end, it is packed with a swing arm with adjustable hydraulic shock fork that could be adjusted according to the condition of roads. The bike is equipped with wheelbase to enhance good ride quality even at high speeds. Coming to the braking system, the bike is equipped with a 240mm disc brake for the front and at the rear it features with 130mm drum brakes. The braking system is not that effective, but it remains under control. It comes with lighter handling, which makes the rider easy to use in city traffic. The machine is equipped with 18-inch 5 spoke alloy wheels that ensure an extra advantage and provides extra stability.
If there is anything that Hero MotorCorp has earned its name for, it is its affordable line of commuter workhorses. The new Achiever is another addition to the company’s 150cc segment, and seems to cater to college-going lads and maybe the office goers. If you go through any review, you would know that it is not the race-kind but would run well on a highway as well.
How Does he Achiever 150 Look Like?
When it comes to the Achiever exterior, it looks nothing different from a customary Indian 150cc motorbike. Understandably enough, this bike launch was to cater to the budget-conscious class of the country. The idea behind the conception of this bike is quite explanatory when you take a glance at the two-wheeler that does not look much ostentatious but still manages to make a presence on the road. Looking down at the instrument console, you will feel at ease as it is utterly straightforward with an analogue display. The new model comes with Hero’s idle-start-stop (i3s) technology, but the engine-kill switch is missing. Continuing its heritage of minimal stickering and including a contemporary chrome heat guard on the exhaust makes the Achiever subtly classy.
Does Hero Achiever Price Justify Its Performance?
The price of this bike is in range of the other 150cc motorbikes in the country. If you compare the Achiever 150 with its other 150cc siblings, you might already be convinced regarding the prices — they are pretty competitive!
Talking about the technical aspects of the bike, the highlight is the all-new components that it entails. Hero MotorCrop has used its all-new products from the Centre of Innovation and Technology in Jaipur to structure the Achiever 150. However, the core remains unchanged, and thus, quality and reliance stay the same. It has the same 150cc mill harvesting the equivalent level of highest power and torque. Nevertheless, Hero has put in a great effort to modify the engine and the powertrain that lead to this BS-IV compliant Hero, which comes with a five-speed gearbox. So, if you consider the mileage, it gives 51 km per litre in the city.
The i3s technology means that the engine will automatically stop after it is idle for 5 seconds but will start up as soon as you press the clutch. The Hero is indeed stepping a notch up its fuel efficiency game with this innovation. Another neoteric feature evident on the bike is the absence of headlight on/off switch. Adhering to the new legislation passed by the Indian government, which says that every Indian two-wheeler should have its headlights on at all times, the Achiever skipped this switch and instead installed a button for the high or low beam.
Final Word on the Hero Achiever 150
The Achiever 150 is a perfect blend of comfort with style on a two-wheeler. With its top-notch specs for a 150cc motorbike paired with mileage per litre, it is inevitably an all-starer! The commuters in India will truly enjoy their everyday ride on this trendy two-wheeler.
