Hero Destini 125 Overview
Hero MotoCorp has launched its first 125 cc scooter, Hero Destini in the country right in time for the festive season. The scooter was first exhibited at the Auto Expo 2018 earlier this year, and it has been designed and developed by Hero’s Centre of Innovation and Technology centre in Jaipur, Rajasthan. As a segment first, the company has offered this scooter with i3s (Idle Stop-Start System) technology, which will help it deliver a decent fuel efficiency. The scooter has been positioned above the regular Duet 110 cc model, and offered in two variants - LX and VX.
Hero Destini 125 Styling & Comfort
The Destini 125 resembles the Duet 110 to a large extent, but it comes with a host of cosmetic add-ons to give the scooter a premium look. The new body graphics and silver finish treatment at the front make it looks more premium and moreover different. There is also an i3S branding on the front panel. The side panel has chrome accents and there is a silver-coloured shield on the exhaust as well. The scooter is offered in five colour options –red, brown, black, silver and white.
The scooter comes with an elegant metallic body, and it measures 1809 mm in length and 729 mm in width. The ground clearance of the scooter is at 155 mm and the seat height is 770 mm. The scooter weighs 111.5 kg.
Hero Destini 125 Performance and Handling
The Destini 125 feels perfect for city driving conditions, and is a very flick-able and agile at corners. The engine is very smooth and feels peppy, which makes riding in the stop-and-go traffic very convenient. It comes with plenty of torque in the lower and mid range of the power band, which makes it easy for daily city commutes. With respect to suspension, the scooter features telescopic forks at the front and hydraulic shock absorbers along with single coil spring type hydraulic at the rear. Suspensions do a good job of absorbing bumps and small undulations. The scooter runs on 90/100-10-inch tubeless tyres on both ends, which do their job quite well.
Hero Destini 125 What we think
The all-new Destini 125 is the most affordable 125 cc scooter available in the market at the moment. It will surely satisfy a lot of owners who would be using it for the daily commute and in-city duties.
Hero Destini 125 Mileage
Owing to the i3S (Idle Start-Stop System) technology, the mileage of Destini 125 appears to be a bit decent. The exact mileage figure of the scooter is not known yet but is expected to be around 54-55 kmpl.
Hero Destini 125 Engine & Transmission
Powering the new Hero Destini 125 is a new 125 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which produces 8.7 bhp of power at 6750 rpm and 10.2 Nm of peak torque at 5000 rpm. Transmission duties are carried out by a CVT gearbox. The engine has been tweaked to offer good low-end torque for easy city drivability.
Hero Destini 125 Braking & Safety
The Destini 125 is equipped with drum brakes at both ends with an Integrated Braking System that controls and minimizes skidding, ensuring safety of the rider. Overall braking performance is impressive.
