Hero Maestro Edge Overview
Hero Maestro Edge, a successor to the standard Hero Maestro, is a significant upgradation over its predecessor. In addition to the performance upgrade, it also gets a sportier and more masculine design along with a range of advanced features, which make driving it a fun altogether.
The Hero Maestro Edge price makes it one of the best value-for-money scooters in the Indian market. It competes against the likes of the most successful Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter and the Yamaha Fascino.
The Hero Maestro Edge specifications meet all the expectation you might have a modern day scooter. Features like Mobile Charging Port, Engine Immobilizer (anti-theft system) and Tubeless tyres make it a step ahead of its competitors. The ignition key works as a multitasker. It lets you unlock the rear external fuel filling lid without even getting down from your ride while refuelling. Moreover, you don’t even need to fidget with your seat lock anymore. Just turn the ignition key to the next joint and the under seat storage is uncovered. Other important features include Always Headlamp On (AHO), Digital Analog Combo Meter Console and LED Tail Lamp.
In terms of design, it beats other scooters in this segment hands down. According to the Hero Maestro Edge Review, it is much more stylish than the Hero Pleasure, the scooter conservatively built for the female buyers. The Maestro is more spacious and has a bigger storage capacity than many scooters that are presently retailed in India. The Hero Maestro Edge Colours include nine different paint schemes - Panther Black, Candy Blazing Red, Pearl Silver White, Shooting Night Star, Techno Blue, Matte Blue, Matte Vernier Grey, Sporty Matte Grey & Red and Active Matte Grey & Blue.
Hero Maestro Edge Engine & Transmission

The engine can thrust out a good power of 8.31 bhp at 8,000 revs per minute along with a peak torque of 8.30 Nm at 6,500 revs per minute, which lets it attain a top speed of attain top speed of 85 km per hour. As for the transmission, it gets the automatic V-Matic transmission system, commonly known as CVT (continuously variable transmission).
Hero Maestro Edge What we think
The Hero Maestro Edge is a lot more than you just know. Among the breed of contemporary scooters, the Maestro has a big under seat storage of 22 litres which can easily fit in both the rider’s helmets together. Under seat charging socket and external fuel-filling cap are some of the features that can easily woo the buyers.
Hero Maestro Edge Mileage
Hero has designed the Maestro Edge with the fibre material, which makes it extremely sturdy and light at the same time. The light-weightedness promotes the performance of the scooter and also boosts the fuel efficiency. The Hero Maestro Edge’s mileage is a touch over 65 kms per litre, as claimed by the company itself. However, this highly depends on whether you are a frequent single rider or are accompanied by a pillion most of the time. Hence, the scooter can go miles if you get the fuel tank filled to its brim.
Hero Maestro Edge Performance and Handling
Now, this is where the all-new Hero Maestro Edge scores the most. The scooter has a big front wheel, bigger than that of the Honda Activa. The 12-inch front wheel, which gets tubeless tyres and alloy wheels, improves the handling of the scooter even at the high-speed range. However, the rear wheel is a 10-inch unit but assists the rider to improve the comfort due to its superior suspension. In fact, the Maestro Edge is the first scooter from the company to be getting a telescopic fork suspension for the front wheel, which, as we all know, is way better than what we get normally. Hence, even on uneven roads, the scooter circulates an air of stability and comfort throughout.
Moreover, the seats are wide and big, which means, there is enough space for both rider and pillion to be comfortable. The new chassis, designed by Hero, adds to the stability greatly. Even though it is not designed to take fast corners, the rider will not feel unsettled while cornering at speed.
As for the braking, the scooter gets 130mm drum brake units on both the sides but the braking power is immense and sudden brakes are always handled well.
