Is it possible to purchase a bike in one city and get it registered to other city?

If both the cities (from where you buy and where want to register) are in same state then it is simple but if both the cities are in different states then there are little formalities, the sales tax need to be paid where the bike will be registered not where it is bought, in some cases, the dealership where the bike is bought collects registration state's sales tax and passes it to that state. For transporting the vehicle you will need a temporary registration certificate issued from the state from where you will buy the bike along with NOC (no objection certificate) for making it sure that no one has filed any claims (theft, accidents, back taxes) against the vehicle being transported, then you can take the bike to your home city and get it registered.
