Hero RNT: A Diesel Bike in India
Hero RNT bike is going to be a new entrant in the Indian two-wheeler market. It is an Omni-purpose model, which surpasses the conventional bikes in the matter of both utility and looks. Previously showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, this big boy stands out from any other bike running on the Indian roads at the moment.
Multi-utility is the major strong point of this bike and this is contributed to the RNT bike’s well thought-off design. With a detachable LED headlamp that can be used to light up other places and an engine serving as a generator for external appliances, the multi-utilitarian aspect of the Hero Motocorp RNT bike exudes in its design. It doesn’t run on petrol but on diesel. However, the upcoming diesel bike is not going to be the first diesel bike in India, since there are existing competitors.
Further, the Hero diesel bike has multi-use folding racks, flat-loading surface with strap bars and a three-pod instrument cluster. This impressive design also includes the comfortability factor with well-cushioned spacious seats, enough foot room with spacious footboard and superior quality black tires.
Engine and Transmission of Hero Diesel Bike
The most important aspect in any bike is its performance and this bike is built for the same.
To execute its performance promises, the Hero RNT bike has been installed with a 150 cc diesel engine delivering a 13.5 bhp of peak power and 35 Nm of peak torque. The Hero RNT mileage hasn’t been still disclosed but it will definitely come with good mileage like the other things Hero has included in the bike to provide a smooth handling experience.
The bike’s power ride is going to be more powerful because apart from the transmission of power to the rear wheels, Hero is thinking to install an electric motor hub with the front wheel, which will allow both the wheels to be powered individually. Apart from this, a turbocharger is also going to be incorporated.
Additionally, the diesel motorcycle in India is also going to come with i3S fuel-saving technology.
A good bike provides safety on the roads and this is another important aspect that people look for. To provide a safe and comfortable ride, the Hero RNT employs large disc brakes present both at the front and rear wheels. Further, the telescopic front forks, along with rear monoshock absorber, provide a good suspension to the bike to run on rough terrains.
This bike, with its multi-utility functions, seems to be a very well-suited bike for the Indian market. However, its actual reception by the Indian masses can only be determined after its launch. The Hero RNT launch date in India still hasn’t been disclosed but it is speculated to be launched in 2018. The Hero diesel bike price is assumed to fall in the price bracket of Rs. 65,000 - Rs. 85,000.
