Honda CB Shine SP Overview

In another avatar of the highest selling bike, Honda CB Shine, its new variant SP comes with a lot of fanfare at a price point of Rs.59,901 (Ex Showroom, Delhi). The upgraded form includes better acceleration, fuel economy, and cosmetics, besides possessing an extra gear. The bike rides on a 125cc single cylinder 2 valve air cooled petrol drive train mated to a five speed transmission gearbox (4 speed one in the earlier avatar). Retaining the earlier demeanour of CB Shine, some cosmetic upgrades have been applied. These include a new trapezoidal headlamp, an analog cum digital instrument console, new decals et al. lloy wheels sport dual five spokes and the rear shock absorbers are a shade redder. The stylish headlamp is ensconced in an aerodynamic fairing with twin light nodes (read indicators) protruding on either side.The petrol tank comes neatly chiselled and tucked in front of the cushy seat. The petrol tank (placed in an inclined way) has silver coloured shades on its sides for better contrast, apart from sporting the Honda emblem. The exhaust at the rear is tipped with chrome and lies beneath the sleek cowl featuring a bright tail lamp. The bike comes in five attractive colours, namely Geny Grey Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, Pearl Amazing White, Black and Rebel Red Metallic.

Honda CB Shine SP draws a maximum power of 10.57bhp at 7500rpm and a peak torque of 10.3Nm at 5500rpm from a 125cc single cylinder 2 valve 4 stroke air cooled petrol engine. This engine is mated to a five speed transmission gearbox system that transfers torque to the rear wheel.

The highest selling bike from the stable of Honda gets a robust suspension system comprising of red hued shock absorbers. The cushy seat is suitably inclined for lumbar support. The two steel handles with proper grips help in maintaining an upright posture for the rider.  two rear view mirrors give a clearer picture of oncoming vehicles, thus keeping the safety quotient higher. The application of disc brakes on both the wheels brings the bike to a halt almost immediately. Having a tight turning radius helps in better manoeuvring such that the bike can wriggle into tough corners without dashing against other vehicles.
