Indian Motorcycle Scout Overview
Indian Motorcycle Scout is an aesthetically stunning and highly innovative American Cruiser that introduces the first ever liquid-cooled Indian Motorcycle engine which is an efficient and reliable 69 cubic inch V-Twin that delivers impressive power. Polaris industries have done good to expand its revival of the Indian Brand with the launch of Indian Scout which is a lighter and less expensive than its fellow Indian bikes. This one is the fourth offering in India from the legendary American motorbike producer, Indian Motorcycle. Overall, Indian Motorcycle Scout is a highly capable performer regardless of the speed or the type of surface you drive it on. It offers the very definition of fun on a motorcycle with great handling and fast speed. Coming at a very affordable price it is sure to make its place in the highly competitive motorcycle market in India.
Indian Motorcycle Scout Engine & Transmission
The bike is powered by an 1131cc, V-Twin engine that produces 100bhp of power and 97.7Nm of torque to offer enhanced durability and reliability. It has a 6-speed manual transmission through a belt-drive that offers power to the rear wheels. According to the company, the new version of this bike carries forward the classic engine design cues that honour both function and form. Indian Motorcycle Scout carries the lowest price tag of all the Indian motorcycles available in the market currently. It looks nothing less than an exquisite piece of art in a museum but sells at just Rs. 11.99lakh. It has brought down the starting range of Indian motorcycles thereby giving severe competition to the Harley-Davidsons.
Indian Motorcycle Scout Mileage
The bike carries a wonderful blend of a vintage and modern design. It does not carry as much chrome as do the other bikes from the Indian brand. It sports chrome only on the cylinder heads, twin exhaust and crankcase among other parts like the mirrors and the handlebars. It has a thunderous look due to minimum body panels. The Scout measures 2311mm in length, 800mm in width and 1207mm in height and possesses a wheelbase of 1562mm along with weight of 253Kg. You can get this bike in four colour choices namely- Thunder Black, Red, Thunder Black Smoke and Silver Smoke.
Indian Motorcycle Scout Performance and Handling
The front wheel of Indian Motorcycle Scout is mounted on telescopic forks and the rear suspension is taken care of by the dual shocks. It has disc brakes of 298mm installed both in the rear and in the front but the front gets double piston calliper while the rear gets single piston calliper. Once underway, this bike feels smooth to ride on and inspires confidence immediately. It is also super-manoeuvrable as it has light curb weight and a nice centre of gravity. The chassis of the bike itself is very stable and offers a well balanced handling. The bike neither drops into corners while turning nor does it feel reluctant to turn in. Unfortunately, there is no ABS vaiable in the bike and this is its only weak point.
