Kawasaki KX100 Overview

The KX100 is a perfect off-road motorcycle build for the younger ones starting to learn serious off-roading. It is only for the dirt track or off-roading purposes and hence cannot be ridden on the road. Unlike other road bikes, it comes with a 2-stroke engine which is conventionally used in all off-roading bikes due for high performance in the initial rev band which is required for its purpose. The KX100 comes with a 13inch ground clearance that technically makes it unstoppable even in the extreme conditions. It weighs only 76.6 kg and has a small wheelbase of 51.6 in.

Kawasaki KX100 Engine & Transmission

The KX100 packs a 99cc 2-stroke, 1-cylinder, piston reed valve, water-cooled engine with a bore x stroke ratio of 52.5 x 45.8mm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed, return shift transmission and the power is delivered to the rear wheel via a chain drive mechanism. Being a 2-stroke motorcycle, it has an immense initial torque which is required in all kinds of off-roading bikes. The engine has a compression ratio of 10.2:1 (low speed) - 8.7:1 (high speed) and has a Keihin PWK28 fuel injection system for smooth power delivery.

Kawasaki KX100 Mileage

Talking about its fuel economy, it delivers around 25km/ltr.

Kawasaki KX100 Performance and Handling

Since the KX100 is only an off-road bike it doesn’t has a lot of features to count. The selected features on the KX100 are added just to complement its purpose of going fast on the dirt tracks. It comes with a tiny 4.9 ltr fuel tank to keep the overall weight in check which is critically required in such bike. It also has disc brakes at both the ends for strong braking. At the front it is equipped with 36mm inverted telescopic cartridge fork with 20-way compression damping/10.8 in while the suspension duties at the rear are performed by Uni-Trak single shock system with 24-way compression and 21-way rebound damping plus adjustable spring preload/10.8 in. Like other off-road bikes, its suspension has enough travel that keeps all the surface undulations under check.
