Kawasaki Z900RS Overview
The classic Kawasaki Z900RS was recently unveiled at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. Based on the standard model Kawasaki Z900, the latest RS version of the bike is a retro-styled two wheeler which is home to the iconic Z1. The Kawasaki Z900RS received several technological updates than the standard Z900. The Kawasaki Z900RS is the only retro-themed variant in the Kawasaki series in the current scenario. Even after getting additional technological specifications than the standard Z900 series, it still makes room for lesser power and torque features.
Kawasaki Z900RS Engine & Transmission
The engine specifications of the Kawasaki Z900RS is similar to the of the Z900 series. It features the same 948cc engine, but claims a lower power output of around 111 HP in comparison to the Z900 series. The power output through the Kawasaki Z900RS engine is produced at 8500 rpm values. The peak torque value of the Kawasaki Z900RS stands at 72.53 Nm @ 6500 rpm. On the Kawasaki Z900, the peak torque value was at 97.9 Nm. The engine of the bike has been mated to a 6 speed transmission gearbox.
Kawasaki Z900RS Braking & Safety
The Kawasaki Z900RS receives the same USD forks of 41 mm that tend to be adjustable like the Z900 series. At the rear end, there is a monoshock that can be well adjusted for pre-load as well as rebound. The Kawasaki Z900RS receives the classic radial-mounted braking calipers in addition to the 300 mm twin discs. There is ABS as standard as well. The bike will be featuring 17-inch wheels at both ends that are easily fitted into any kind of tyres.
Kawasaki Z900RS Competitors
The Kawasaki Z900RS observes its main rival to be the BMW Rnine T bike series.
Kawasaki Z900RS Mileage
The Z900RS series by Kawasaki is expected to return an average mileage of around 18.86 kmpl. The Kawasaki Z900RS appears classy with the traditional vintage round headlamp along with the twin-pod instrument cluster. The most attractive feature in the overall looks of the Kawasaki Z900RS is the tear-shaped fuel tank which has been majorly lifted from the Z1 itself. The Kawasaki Z900RS maintains the old-world charm. Additionally, it also welcomes modern-age technology touches here & there.
Kawasaki Z900RS Performance and Handling
The lowering down of the power output of the Kawasaki Z900RS from its predecessor model Z900 to 111 HP makes the overall power highly accessible below the range of 7000 rpm. Thus, with this feature, the riders are able to achieve the feel of gliding across the roads in any given gear. The given value of peak torque of the bike makes the Kawasaki Z900RS an ideal machine for relaxed highway riding and all-season touring experiences. For enhanced performance assurances, the Kawasaki Z900RS bike comes with additional features like LED headlights, fuel injection technology, and a liquid cooled engine.
Kawasaki Z900RS What we think
With high-end features in comparison to the standard Z900 series, the Kawasaki Z900RS is much awaited in the Indian automobile markets too soon.
