KTM 1190 Adventure R Overview
KTM has seen pretty good success in Indian market with its Duke series. The Austrian high-performance bike manufacturer is now aiming to increase its market share here with more new models. While the brand was focusing the sub-500cc segment so far, now it is aiming the bigger category and one of the upcoming bikes from the brand is KTM 1190 Adventure R that is expected to launch in India in near future.
Upon launch, the KTM 1190 Adventure R is likely to be priced between Rs. 14 lakh and Rs. 18 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Considering the fact that demands for the high-performance premium adventure motorcycles are increasing in India, KTM hopes to see a good response from the customers with this model. The KTM 1190 Adventure R appears aggressive and bold looking from every angle.
The bike gets sharp looking LED headlamp, while there is a compact visor as well. It gets fully digital instrument cluster, wide handlebars with sharp looking wing mirrors fitted to them. The tank scoops and sculpted looking fuel tank add zing to the bike. A low positioned rider seat along with slightly stepped up pillion ensures the riders get comfortable experience. At the rear of the bike, it gets a sleek look with the split grab rails, LED taillight.
The KTM 1190 Adventure R comes with a sculpted-looking upwardly positioned exhaust muzzle. It’s naked look at side profile gives the KTM 1190 Adventure R a bold appearance, while the orange painted bars add sportiness. There is a skid plate at the bottom of the engine block protecting the power plant. Like the other models from the brand, KTM 1190 Adventure R to dons a paint scheme combining colours like White, Black and Orange.
KTM 1190 Adventure R Engine & Transmission
The power source for the KTM 1190 Adventure R is a 1,195 cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine that is coupled with a 6-speed transmission. The engine is well capable of churning out 148 bhp of peak power at 9,500 rpm and 125 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine not only delivers impressive power output, but it also makes sure the bike comes with smooth performance.
KTM 1190 Adventure R Braking & Safety
For braking duty, the bike gets twin 320 mm Brembo disc brakes up front and a 267 single disc brake at rear sourced from Brembo. The disc brakes are combined with dual channel ABS. Suspension duty is done by WP USD front forks and WP monoshock absorber at the back. It runs on 220 mm multi-spoke front and rear wheels.
