KTM 390 Adventure Overview
KTM India has finally launched its first adventure tourer in India, which was much awaited. The all-new 390 Adventure motorcycle has been introduced in India. Based on the nearest sibling - the Duke 390, the KTM 390 Adventure version of the motorbike is all set to become the heart-throb of adventurous bikers out there looking for some lightweight performance during a fun ride. The 390 Adventure will derive a lot of parts such as from its naked sibling which has been very successful in the Indian market due to the explosive performance and value for money that it offers. This will help to keep the costs of the motorcycle in check. Some of the additional features that the latest KTM 390 Adventure motorbike offers are ABS as standard, larger tank for longer riding range, exhaust mounted on the side for improving the ground clearance in case of off-terrain riding, tall riding position, and small carrier at the mounts & back for additional storage. KTM 390 Adventure price starts from Rs. 3 lakhs (ex-showroom)
KTM 390 Adventure Styling & Comfort
Based on a completely typical street-version of the adventure bikes, the KTM 390 Adventure borrows its inherent traits from the standard 1190 Adventure in terms of the overall design. In terms of the overall styling, the KTM 390 Adventure takes on a greater level of inspiration from the Enduro R of KTM by overlooking the front fender, tail, and its seat. 2020 KTM 390 Adventure is equipped with 5-inch TFT dash that can be configured as per requirements. The dash also connects to KTM’s My Ride app via Bluetooth, enabling access to phone functions and audio player. At the front, you get an LED headlamp with a Daytime Running Lamp and a windscreen which deflects the windblast away from the rider. The side profile is typical KTM with the angular and striking paint scheme and body panels. KTM has used a side-mounted exhaust which frees up the space below the bike and increases the ground clearance that is important while off-roading.
The user can customize also his motorcycle through the KTM Performance parts such as handguards, skid plate, high-mount Akrapovic exhaust etc. which gives the motorcycle a unique look.
KTM 390 Adventure Performance and Handling
The KTM 390 Adventure is assumed to be a multi-purpose two-wheeler which is efficient in handling off-road conditions along with rugged terrain situations with much ease. KTM 390 Adventure weight is 158 kg dry, which makes the motorcycle manoeuvrable during off-roading. With suspension travel of 170mm for the front and 177mm for the rear suspension and a ground clearance of 200mm, the motorcycle stays compliant over the bad patches of road and can tackle the beating of rough surfaces easily. Irrespective of which direction KTM will be taking the bike, it is quite clear that it wants the KTM 390 Adventure to give the biker some amazing off-road experiences through its improved overall performance.
KTM 390 Adventure Mileage
KTM 390 Adventure mileage is expected to be around 25kmpl. However, the mileage of the motorcycle depends on how the rider is riding the motorcycle. KTM 390 Adventure fuel tank capacity is 14.5-litre, which is on par with the competition.
KTM 390 Adventure Engine & Transmission
KTM 390 Adventure will share the same engine as the Duke 390 and the RC 390. The liquid-cooled 373cc single-cylinder engine delivers 43 bhp of max power at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque output of 37 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The shifting is smooth due to the slipper clutch and KTM also offers two-way quick-shifter as standard. The engine is also now BS6 compliant to keep the emission norms in check.
KTM 390 Adventure Braking & Safety
Braking duties are taken care of by a 320 mm disc in the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear. KTM has given special attention to the safety features of the motorcycle by offering dual-channel Anti Lock Braking System. KTM also offers Off-road ABS and Cornering ABS and Motorcycle Traction Control which works cleverly according to the lean angle of the rear wheel.
