Is the throttle of KTM Duke 390 is rough?

1 Answers

Not too many users but some users have shared the experience of throttle roughness, the engine cut-off happens when they are slowing down depress the clutch to downshift, The KTM 390 has a 90 degree throttle turn which is a quite a long throttle - apparently chosen deliberately to make it 'easier' for new riders, many of the users have to blip the throttle every time they downshift, but it is not a perfect solution. Many of the users have installed after market throttle tube to increase response and decrease throttle rotation.

As per users experience increasing the size of the throttle cam will improve riding in several ways. First, bike’s power characteristics will seem far more responsive – on turning the throttle, bike will rev faster than before. Secondly, less overall rotation is required to reach full throttle. This is a huge benefit to riders with limited wrist mobility. In addition, less rotation allows to more easily maintaining a proper riding position with less elbow drop as the throttle is rotated.
