Lohia Frame Overview
Lohia auto is quite a recognized name in the electric two-wheeler industry and is known for wheeling out high-tech electric bikes. Fame is an electric scooter offered by this Indian automaker which can carry two persons quite comfortably. The homegrown automajor manufactures the Fame scooter at its Kashipur, Uttrakhand production unit. It can attain a not-so-appreciable top speed of 25kmph as it comes loaded with a maintenance free, VRLA, Gel Type, 12V Battery. It can cover a distance of around 70 kilometers at one full charge of the battery. The battery has a capacity of 20Ah and its input voltage is 48V whereas it returns 250 Watts of impressive power. The battery takes 6-8 hours to get fully charged, which results in consumption of only two units of electricity. Dimensionally, Lohia Fame is 1825 x 675 x 1020 mm (L x W x H); quite decent dimensions, must say! Fame Lohia's stylish alloy wheels have a diameter of 16 inch X 3 inch and first-grade puncture resistant tyres compliment them well. Both the front and rear brakes are drum brakes and their diameter is 80 mm and 110 mm, respectively. The front suspension is telescopic which ensures a comfortable ride and works its part pretty well. Similar to several other electric scooters of its league, it, too, doesn't require any number plate or RTO registration. The rider doesn't need to be a certified rider, owning a valid driving license, in order to ride this e-bike. The company has offered Fame with four eye-catching colors - Magnificent Mauve, Smart Pink, Sensuous Red, and Black. The company describes the vehicle as, " Electric Bike with Elegance" and it has not left any stone unturned to make it elegant and prove the aforementioned tagline true. Fame electric scooter has large storage space to keep the small belongings or grocery. Its high ground clearance is also one of its most talked about success factor. It weighs only a mere 80 kgs and also can't bear much weight as the motor could choke due to overload. It comes at a sticker price of Rs. 23,455 (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) which is quite low as compared to the other similar e-bikes in the segment. It lock horns with the likes of Hero Electric Maxi, Cruz and Optima Plus. Hero scooters easily usurp Lohia electric bikes as the latter has quite a few dealerships across the nation whereas Hero has sales outlets in whole of the country in abundance. In all, the Lohia Fame is an efficient, eco-friendly and economical transport mode for city driving and short errands. ARAI Certification was attained for this product.
