MV Agusta Brutale Overview
The Italian, MV Augusta Company has strengthened its street racing portfolio by introducing four models in the Brutale series. Out of the four models, MV Agusta Brutale 1090 runs on a 1078cc petrol powerplant comprising of an integrated ignition injection system backed by multiple injectors. The bike looks awe inspiring with a rounded headlamp exuding style, followed by a high mounted fuel tank. Its well cushioned split seats provide an upright stance to the rider(s) ensuring super comfort levels, accentuated by broad shoulder arms with twin rear view mirrors. Boasting dimensions of 2085mm in length, 725mm in width, and 1380mm of wheelbase, this menacing bike garners high stability thanks to an eight level traction control system with electronic quick shifter and a Bosch 9 plus anti lock braking system integrated with rear wheel lift mitigation feature. It rides on 17 inches aluminium alloy wheels having tubeless tyres. To facilitate shifting of gears, the bike comes equipped with an electronic quick shifter that does away with the use of clutch. The body of MV Augusta Brutale 1090 is made of a tubular steel trellis section integrated with aluminium plates. This arrangement of a modular frame provides high torsion and is backed by adjustable shock absorbers. The rear of the bike sports exhaust pipes with silencers in three tiers, enhancing its looks quotient by a few notches. The instrument console sits at the centre of the handle bar having digital gauges showing readings such as speedometer, tachometer, fuel meter, and trip meter. The bike is pitted against competitors like Yamaha YZF R1 and Kawasaki Ninja, among others.
MV Agusta Brutale Engine & Transmission
Given its street race bike status, MV Augusta Brutale 1090 derives humungous power and torque values of 144.2bhp at 10300rpm and 112Nm at 8100 rpm, respectively. These figures are attributable to a 1078cc 4 cylinders 4 stroke 16 valves petrol power plant integrated with an ignition injection system. The engine is mated to a 6 speed cassette type manual gearbox comprising of an electronic quick shifter and a wet multi plate clutch configuration. The engine in consonance with the gearbox system helps the bike to reach a top speed of 265Kmph.
MV Agusta Brutale Mileage
As it is a high power street bike, the fuel economy is on the lower side. The mileage garneredby the bike comes to a lowly 5.8 litres per 100 Km. Furthermore, its fuel tank can carry 23 litres of fuel.
MV Agusta Brutale Performance and Handling
MV Augusta Brutale 1090 garners a top speed of 265 Kmph and combines many state of the art elements to ensure ease of handling. Its robust suspension system comprising of telescopic hydraulic fork at the front and progressive single shock absorber at the rear promotes stability and does not allow the rider(s) to experience the shocks and bumps on the way. This high speed machine can be brought to an abrupt halt thanks to its 320mm dual disc brakes with Brembo four piston callipers at the front and a 210mm single disc brake with Nissan four piston callipers at the rear wheels.
