MV Agusta F3 800 Overview
In a bid to shore up its portfolio of racing bikes, the Italian maker M V Agusta, in association with Kinetic Engineering Limited of India, is on course to launch its powerful model M V Agusta F3 800 in India. The company has rushed in a few Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units for an early launch. Like most bikes from the companyвЂ™s stable, F3 800 boasts of stunning looks fronted by sleek aerodynamic fairings. The unique styling of this bike is characterised by a prominent muscular fuel tank sitting atop its lithe ALS steel tubular trellis frame, right at the middle. The sinewy but pointed tail extending from the sitting position appears eye catching. The exhaust system comprising of three tier exhaust pipes adds to the overall charm. The bike seems to embody in letter in spirit what the company describes it as, вЂњThe exhilaration of a 1000cc bike, the handling of a 600. The torque of a twin, the acceleration of a four cylinder. MV Agusta F3 800 pushes back the performance barriers, thanks to Italian made 3 cylinder engine excellence.вЂќ The superbike rides on a 3 cylinder inline 798cc engine delivering 148hp of power and 88Nm of torque. The bike is bestowed with an advanced electronic package, and high quotient safety measures in the form of ABS, Brembo braking system and an eight stage traction control mechanism.
MV Agusta F3 800 Engine & Transmission
The enormity of power and torque is brought to fruition by the powerful powerplant of M V Agusta F3 800. This powerplant comprises of 3 cylinders and an inline double overhead cam shaft to displace 798cc of air. The engine garners a maximum power output of 148hp at 13000rpm and a peak torque of 88Nm revving at 10,600rpm. Importantly, the engine comes with a built-in rev limiter mechanism that will kick in once the rev touches 13,500rpm. The powerplant comes integrated with a Motor and Vehicle Integrated Control System that will exercise control over the throttle and traction control. The torque is directed to the rear wheel by 6 speed constant mesh transmission coupled with a mechanical slipper clutch system.

MV Agusta F3 800 boasts of a mileage of 45mpg, which is not bad considering the power packed performance of its engine.
MV Agusta F3 800 Performance and Handling
M V Agusta F3 800 can rev real quick thanks to its powerful engine by touching a top speed of 269kmph. The bike sports a light weight of 173kg and a superior power to weight ratio akin to those of a sports bike. These specifications lend easy manoeuvrability and allow it to ride through any kind of terrain. The advanced cushioning system comprises of a 43mm Marzocchi front fork backed by 125mm of monoshock travel. This suspension system also comprises of a nitrogen reservoir providing spring cushion, compression and rebound actions. Handling the bike is relatively easy on account of cushy seats, approachable controls and most importantly, a sturdy braking system comprising of Brembo monobloc front callipers and 320mm front discs. The rear wheel has a two piston calliper integrated with a 220mm single disc. Safety gets the highest priority in the form of ABS and an eight stage traction control system.
