Royal Enfield Himalayan Overview
The Chennai-based automaker became the first in the country to launch an affordable adventure motorcycle. The Himalayan is unlike any other bike present from Royal Enfield, it has been developed around a unique platform sharing almost nothing from earlier products from Royal Enfield. It has been built for a very different purpose of serving people who want to explore places and travel distances, who need a bike that can do almost everything. Himalayan has been developed to conquer almost all territories whether its off-roads, tarmac, snow and everything else. The bike has been given a half-duplex split-cradle frame that suits its adventure needs and hence provides a perfect balance to the rider at all times.
Royal Enfield Himalayan Engine & Transmission
The Himalayan derives its power from the LS410 engine which is a 411cc, single-cylinder, Long-Stroke engine that produces 25bhp of maximum power and 32nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. Its LS410 is brand new engine by Royal Enfield that has been designed to produce stronger torque pull starting from the low revs. The engine designed with an internal counterbalancer that makes sure that fewer vibrations are produced for longer, smoother rides. It is said to be the smoothest power-unit ever made by the Chennai-based automaker and is also praised for its linear power delivery throughout the rev range.

The bike has been loaded with features such as an informative, semi-digital display that comprise of a digital compass, time of the day, tachometer and much more stuff. Its frame is so built that it can fit in jerry cans, aluminum panniers and saddle bags without any fuss. Its high ground clearance of 220mm ensures that the bike can go anywhere without any fuss at all, also its long travel suspension is made to provide the rider all the needed confidence and support on slush and bad terrain. It has been equipped with spoke wheels that complement the adventure characteristics and also features a 21-inch front wheel which is perfect for all kind of terrain conditions.
