Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Overview
In a bid to capture increase its market share in the Indian mid-capacity two-wheeler segment Royal Enfield has launched the Interceptor 650 in India. The motorcycle has been priced at Rs 2.5 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). With the launch of this motorcycle, the company aims to deliver truly high-performance motorcycles to its Indian consumers. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Styling & Comfort
Based on a retro-classic design, the new Interceptor 650 comes with a minimalistic design and styling. The engine is mounted on an all-new double cradle frame. Enhancing its retro appeal are round reflector headlight, spoked wheels, are fuel tank and wider handlebars.
The new Interceptor 650 measures 2,122 mm in length, 789 mm in width and 1,165 mm in height. Its ground clearance is 174mm mm and it comes with the 13.7-litre fuel tank. The kerb weight of the motorcycle stands at 202 kg. The front end gets a 100/90-18-tyre while the rear gets the 130/70-18 tyre.
The motorcycle is available in six colour schemes, four of which are single colours – orange, black, grey and silver– and two twin-tone paint schemes, red/silver and red/black.
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Performance and Handling
The Interceptor 650 offers a perfect combination of authentic styling and precise performance. The plenty of power throughout the rev range ensures that the rider is almost never in the wrong gear and there is always power available for you to tap into. There is a good amount of low-end punch and the motorcycle feels apt in the city as well as on the highway. High-speed composure is great and the Interceptor 650 has a confidence inspiring feel of solidity on the highway. The motorcycle is capable to attain a maximum speed of 180 kmph.
The suspension setup comprises twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear and telescopic forks at the front. Whether the terrain is rough or soft, the suspension takes it all without any issues.

At its aggressive pricing, the Royal Enfield Interceptor takes on the likes of KTM 390, but in terms of specs, it rivals the Kawasaki Z650.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Engine & Transmission
Powering both Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is an all-new 648cc, air-oil cooled, SOHC, fuel-injected, parallel-twin motor which churns out a peak power of 47 hp at 7,250 rpm and 52 Nm of peak torque at 5,250rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-assist clutch.
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Braking & Safety
Braking duties are carried out by a 320mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc. The motorcycle also offers a dual-channel ABS as the standard for additional braking assistance.
