Bike variant reviewed for: Suzuki Gixxer SF

Year of Manufacture: 2014 | Driven no. of Kms. : 3300
  • Pros: 1. Style - Exhaust, tank design, overall design, etc. 2. Performance - 155cc, a bit different in class 3. Ride Comfort - particularly when cornering and long rides
  • Cons: 1. Mileage - Company promised mileage is 63 kmpl, whereas I get only 40 kmpl, even after riding within the given clauses and 5 services. 2. Weight - Even with a plastic tank, the bike is pretty heavy to move, particularly when parking in cramped spaces. 3. Shocks - Even after setting the shock absorbs to 4, they are pretty stiff in potholes. 4. Height - Pillion riders find it a bit difficult to get on to the bike. 5. Accessories - Lack of accessories, for ex., even a proper crash-bar is not available for a bike that is in market for an year now.

Full Review:

I have bought the bike in December 2014 out of love for it and after analyzing quite a bit of reviews on this and other bikes of this class. I really enjoy riding my bike, be it city riding or long rides. The bike handles wonderfully, with the braking system living up to the expectations. But the biggest disappointment I faced is the mileage. For a company promised 63 kmpl, I get only 40 kmpl even after riding within what is said to be 'handling a new bike' clause, like do not rev the bike, ride within xx kmph speed for till you reach xxxx kms and all such stuffs. Second is the weight. I find it really frustrating to move, even the back of the bike to adjust to the cramped up parking spaces of the city. Overall, though the list cons are a bit longer. If only they are taken care of, the bike would be the unbeatable champion in its category. But, then again, the love for the bike overtakes the demerits. I would recommend this bike to any bike-lover.
