Suzuki Intruder M800 Overview

The Suzuki Intruder M800 is a moderately powered cruiser that has stunning looks and easy handling. The performance figures are just enough to keep a distance mile-muncher happy. It is comfortable, efficient and lighter than its bigger brother. The looks alone will grab plenty eyeballs riding around the city and lighter weight means it is easy to handle as well.

Suzuki Intruder M800 Engine & Transmission

The 4 stroke liquid cooled engine has a displacement of 805cc. The V-twin engine generates 52bhp at 6,000rpm and 68Nm at 4,000rpm. Just enough power to make steady progress. It has a low bass-note and will keep humming the whole day as you cruise by. Transmission has 5 speeds and does compliment the engine. Performance figures are not very appealing but the M800 will go past 180kmph at the top. The slow cruising capabilities of the Intruder is what really shines. Keep it in the right gear and it effortlessly wades through city or highway roads.

Suzuki Intruder M800 Mileage

A smaller engine than its bigger brother, and lesser weight to lug around means fuel efficiency increases to about 20kmpl. With a 15.5litre fuel tank capacity, the Intruder M800 will ride nearly 300km on one fill-up.

Suzuki Intruder M800 Performance and Handling

A kerb weight of 269kg is not less, but the V-twin handles it with confidence. The ride quality is smooth over most rough patches but the low ground clearance means caution must be observed. One letdown are the brakes. The front single does a great job, but the equipping the rear with a drum brake just does not do good to the Intruder. Another issue is that less power and torque figure does need one to shift gears often, specially riding through a bit of elevation. But it isa fun to ride machine. The smooth engine and light handling means it is a joy as a weekend machine.
