Triumph Thruxton Overview
Finally Triumph Thruxton is here from the roads of London with its vintage and retro looks with very comfortable ergonomics. Its single seat, narrow fuel tank, minimalist gauge cluster (with analogue speedometer and tachometer), low-rise bars, aluminum-rimmed spoke wheels, and megaphone-style mufflers is just perfect for the riders in providing them sporty riding in a very modern fashion. The suspension works very well and offers quite a decent ride quality and the braking system makes sure that you feel safe and comfortable at high speeds as well. Overall this bike advances on the lines of the famed caf? racers of the '60s with some major changes done to improve the riding experience, to match the modern standards and to suit the changing demands of the market. Its production has started since 2004 and since then there is constant improvement done in the model year by year so as to keep the clientage intact and happy.
Triumph Thruxton Engine & Transmission
The engine of this bike is a derivative of the current Bonneville and is fuel-injected, 865 cc,twin-cylinder engine (with fake carburetors) which has a 360-degree firing interval (instead of 270 degrees) for steadier operation. In action, it offers a power of 59.9bhp at 7,400rpm which basically is more than the Bonneville and 10 times more than the Scrambler. The 5-speed transmission proves rider-friendly and the power is transferred to the rear wheel very smoothly via chain drive. In all, the bike offers a maximum torque of 51 lb-ft at 5,800 rpm. Further, its parallel twin offers you a good progression but the engine seems to get stressed near 6000 rpm.
Triumph Thruxton Mileage
Triumph Thruxton offers an overall fuel efficiency of 18kmpl and varies a little up and down depending on the road and traffic conditions. Further, different models offer different figures as the company is known to upgrade it year by year but on an average the brand offers a mileage of 18kmpl. Take this bike on long empty highways or twisty, rough roads to explore and admire it fully.
Triumph Thruxton Performance and Handling
Its chassis and narrow tires improve its dynamics very much specially through twists and turns so that you can drive it even through crowded roads with ease and comfort. . At first glance, this bike may seem very ordinary to you but it is certain, the more you will ride it the more you will appreciate its flexible engine, rigid frame, sincere suspension, and powerful brakes. The engine is very nimble at lower speeds and does not like higher revs. To enjoy the best of this bike, ride in the middle range and it will greet you well with its sweet sound from the tailpipes especially when you have opted for optional arrow mufflers. You can very easily touch 200 km/h with this bike but do remember that beyond this the bike seems to get a bit unstable.
