Triumph Tiger 800 Overview

British Bike manufacturer Triumph launched their Triumph Tiger 800 XCx that takes on the likes of BMW F800GS. It is an adventure bike that is aimed at adventure novices who desire a triple but did not fancy the big 1050cc Tiger and those who are keen on British sense of adventure. It has a 799cc triple engine that got loads of muscular power and torque. It comes with a tough steel frame and a long distance fuel range. This hard core bike can easily run on places which have no roads!

Triumph Tiger 800 Engine & Transmission

The 93.7bhp engine of Triumph Tiger 800 XC, like the rest of the bike, has been made for adventure. It is liquid-cooled, DOHC, 12 valve in-line three cylinder 799cc engine. This makes this bike a great sounding donk that offers a smooth and solid amount of power at low rpm. The rugged dependability applies to the transmission as well. Triumph Tiger 800 XCx sports six gears and a tough clutch with a light lever action that comes in handy in difficult conditions. The chain drive ensures simplicity and reduced weight along with good ground clearance. This helps in altering the final drive ratio to make way for sustained low speed driving. It claims 94hp at 9300rpm but it seriously feels stronger than that. the 79Nm of torque of this bike peaks at 7850rpm and the engine can pull top gear for a little over 2000rpm.

Triumph Tiger 800 Mileage

Triumph Tiger 800 XC promises to be a pretty fuel efficient machine. A 17.5 litre fuel tank seems to be sufficient. Triumph has tried hard to better the fuel efficiency so you can get better than six litres per 100km. Most of the comparable machines in this size come with a similar fuel tank. The bike offers a decent 17kmpl of mileage and the Reserve fuel capacity stands at 2litres.The Fuel Efficiency Range is 300Km.

Triumph Tiger 800 Performance and Handling

This bike offers good ergonomics and absolute comfort that are the pre-requisites for an adventure beast. The seat is deceptively narrow and the 865mm seat height can be lowered to 845mm if need be. The handlebars risers of this motorcycle are also adjustable. The suspension travel for this bike is a huge 220mm at the front and 215mm in the rear. This is just what you would need on poor condition trail. It has 45mm Showa upside down forks along with a rebound adjustable Showa monoshock that can be adjusted for either off or on-road riding. This motorcycle also features 650W generator that allows you to wire in any electrical accessories like phone or radio chargers and GPS. Overall, it is a truly versatile do-it-all motorcycle that is as efficient off the road as it is on road.
