Is it possible to purchase a bike from other state and register in home state?
It can be done but don’t assume that you can save money by purchasing a bike in a state with a lower sales tax as the tax collectors are way ahead of you, sales tax need to be paid where the bike is registered not where it is bought. In some cases, the dealership where we buy the bike will collect our state's sales tax and then pass it along to our home state. For transporting the vehicle we need a temporary registration certificate issued from the state from where we buy the bike along with NOC (no objection certificate) which is for making sure that no one has filed any claims (theft, accidents, back taxes) against the vehicle being transported.
