Vespa FI Overview
Vespa is in the process to upgrade its scooters with the fuel injected engines replacing the carburettors. The iconic Italian brand is keen to grab more market share here and a vital part of that strategy is upgrading the machines according to the market demands and new norms. The 125 cc engine powered Vespa scooter in the Indian market will receive the FI technology and the upgraded models are expected to launch here sometime later this year.
Expect the Vespa FI to be priced between Rs. 65,000 and Rs. 70,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Vespa FI Engine & Transmission
The power source for the Vespa FI will be a 125 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with fuel injection technology.
The engine will be coupled with a CVT and it will churn out 10 bhp of peak power along with 10.6 Nm of peak torque.
Vespa FI Styling & Comfort
In terms of styling, the scooter will carry the same silhouette. However, there would be some additional features in order to make the premium model more upmarket and appealing. There could be a complete LED lighting package, while the seat material could come improved in the new model.

The Vespa FI would return mileage between 45 kmpl and 55 kmpl.

In terms of performance, the Vespa FI would come with refinement and it will also offer better handling quality.
Vespa FI Braking & Safety
For braking duty, the Vespa FI will use a 200 mm front disc brake and a 140 mm rear drum brake.

Vespa FI will lock horns with Aprilia SR 125, Yamaha Fascino.
