Launched with a noble cause, this newly released Vespa RED 125 scooter by Piaggio is a special version from the highly respected Indian two-wheeler or bike manufacturer through collaboration with RED – a reputed NGO for spreading awareness with respect to HIV/AIDS. The Vespa RED scooter stands out from the two-wheeler variants through its impressive overall design and high-tech features. Featuring a complete red look with its glossy red shade all over to even the seats & plastic panels, the scooter appears highly appealing on the look fronts. In addition to the glossy red shade, the look of the scooter is complimented by the highlighted chrome strokes that include an appealing view to the overall two-wheeler. The Vespa RED is the special edition version of the standard Vespa 946 –a highly exclusive scooter model which is dedicated to technological as well as aesthetic perfection in all terms.
Vespa Red Engine & Transmission
The scooters by Vespa come with two engine options: 125 cc and 150 cc. The 125cc engine comes with additional features like air cooled motor which is capable of churning out a power of 10 PS at 7500 rpm along with a peak torque of 10.6 Nm at 6000 rpm. While the other engine variant –the 150cc one comes with features like air cooled, single cylinder motor which is capable of developing 11.6 PS of power at 7000 rpm and a peak torque of 11.5 Nm at 5500 rpm. With all of these setups, the scooter is capable of hitting a top speed of 100 kmph which is good enough for the Indian streets.
Vespa Red Mileage
The high-end stylish scooter is excellent in its own way by offering a mileage of around 45 kmpl which is capable of supporting a good riding range. Vespa RED is known by its iconic styling which is represented through a mix of old-school as well as contemporary design which makes this two-wheeler stand out from the rest in the crowd. The scooter parades its unique identity moderately with the prominent Vespa RED badging in chrome on the top left end of the front panel along with the centrally-located Piaggio logo. The classic scooter by Vespa is standing its grounds well with some of the potential rivals as Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, & Aprilia SR 150.
Vespa Red Performance and Handling
The Vespa RED scooter comes fitted with 90/100 strong-grip tyres places at both of its ends. The tubeless tyres of the scooter offer higher convenience while riding in any situation of puncture. The tyres at both the ends are mounted over the classic 10-inch sating finished alloy wheels that offer a stunning look to the scooter. In addition to this, the scooter also features a 150 mm drum brake on the front end that has been paired to the 140 mm drum brake at the rear end. The suspension system of Vespa RED comprises of single side arm Aircraft-derived ant-dive feature at the front end with Dual-effect hydraulic shock absorber at the rear end.
