Vespa SXL Overview
The Vespa SXL is a cute little two-wheeler which is available in both 125cc and 150cc engine variants. This scooter is lightweight, which makes it easy to handle in the rush hour city traffic. The overall length of this scooter is 1770mm, its width is 690mm and its overall height is 1140mm. It has an old-school classic style and has several features which make it a hit among the youngsters. Some of the features include electric start, pass light, pillion footrest, black alloy wheels, comfortable seats, two extended rearview mirror, a modern instrument panel and several others. This scooter is available in several bright colours, including Orange, Matt Black, White and Azure Blue.
Vespa SXL Engine & Transmission
The company uses the same 125cc/150cc engines as seen on the VXL scooters. The SXL 150 comes powered with a 150cc single cylinder 3 valves, air-cooled engine generating close to 9.92bhp of maximum power at 7000rpm and a peak torque of 10.9Nm at 5500rpm. While the SXL 125 rearview a smaller 125cc single cylinder, 3 valves, air-cooled engine churning out 9.52bhp at 7500rpm of maximum power and 9.9Nm at 6000rpm of peak torque. The engines run on a CVT transmission.
Vespa SXL Braking & Safety
For effective braking, it has 200mm disc brake for the front wheel and a 110mm drum brake for the rear wheel. For maximum safety, the scooter will be launched with standard ABS by late 2018.
Vespa SXL Mileage
Though officially nothing has been claimed from Vespa, but expect both the engines to deliver a mileage in excess of 50-55kmpl.
Vespa SXL Performance and Handling
The powerful engines on the Vespa SXL produce amount of power that allows this two-wheeler to reach a maximum speed of 95Kmph. It is also quick to sprint in terms of quite mile acceleration. The handling of this scooter is confidence inspiring thanks to its light-weight handling geometry and 5-spoke alloy wheels along with a comfortable suspension setup. The front suspension consists of a single-sided trailing link and the rear suspension comprises of hydraulic shock absorbers. This setup makes the scooter glides over all the undulations with maximum comfort.
