Yamaha FZ Version 3.0 Overview
The first streetfighter of India is back and has been updated by Yamaha with styling and performance to mesmerize and impress bike lovers. There are a lot of advancements, like ABS, better mileage, fuel-injected Blue-Core engine and extravagant styling features that will blow your mind. The engine is now compliant with BS-6 emission norms. The build quality of the motorcycle is still one of the best in the segment. The basic characteristics of the FZ are still there with the less weight, easy handling and peppy performance from the engine. The FZ Fi colours offered by Yamaha are metallic Black which looks stealthy and the Racing Blue which looks sporty when compared to the other colour.
Yamaha FZ Version 3.0 Styling & Comfort
The front fascia of the two-wheeler complements the FZ25 with an almost identical front axle featuring a raised indicator and a compact headlight. Yamaha FZ 3.0 design comes with an R1 styled cockpit, all-digital instrument console and LED headlamp with Daytime-Running Lamp. The muscularity of the FZ has been enhanced by the tank extensions. The company has integrated alloy wheels, which are equipped with the disc brakes in the front and at the rear. The side profile is somewhat similar to the FZ V2 but now it looks more aggressive. Overall, the visual modifications are significant with the major changes being found on the seating arrangement of the motorbike as it comes with a single-piece seat rather than a split-seat setup. This has been done for the comfort of the rider and the pillion. The seat height is 790mm to make it easy for the rider to hop on the motorcycle. The instrument cluster now features negative LCD technology which makes the information more legible in direct sunlight whereas the tell-tale lights are placed around the screen.
Yamaha FZ Version 3.0 Performance and Handling
The engine is now fuel-injected which means smoother throttle response and the peppy performance. The improved engine is having a decent mileage as well as an improved acceleration. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork in the front and a 7-step adjustable monocross suspension at the rear. The suspension absorbs most of the bumps and potholes of the Indian roads.
Yamaha FZ Version 3.0 What we think
Some major changes are apparent in the third-generation Yamaha FZ 3.0 with the replacement of the split seats with a nicely designed single seat that seems pretty comfortable at the first glance. Overall, the motorbike gets a comparatively leaner and better aesthetics than its predecessors. The bike is revamped with LED headlights, tail lamp and turn signal lamp.

Yamaha FZ Fi specs offer a 149cc fuel-injected engine which is capable of producing a max power output of 12.4PS @ 7,250rpm and a peak torque output of 13.6Nm @ 5,500rpm. The engine is now BS-6 compliant to keep the emissions in check and comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Yamaha FZ Version 3.0 Braking & Safety
Braking duties are handled by disc brake in the front and at the rear. The front disc measures 282mm whereas the rear disc measures 220mm. The tubeless tyres and a single-channel Anti-lock Braking System enhances safety.
