Yamaha Ray Overview

The Yamaha Ray was targeted at the female audience in particular, thus, boasts of low seat height and lightness. The external design too has been set radical and modern. With simplicity being the key to its success, the Ray's instrument panel houses an analogue speedometer, fuel gauge and turn indicators. It has crystal lens that brings radiance and quality to this vehicle.

The seat is comfortable and comes with a grab rail. There is also 15.5l under-seat storage space for keeping a helmet or anything inside this safely. Also the Ray Z becomes a not-so-feminine options for young riders looking for a stylish and easy city runabout.

Yamaha Ray Engine & Transmission

Yamaha Ray has a potent 113cc engine that is air cooled and has a single cylinder. It produces 7bhp of maximum power made at 7.500rpm and 8.1Nm peak torque at 5,000rpm. The transmission is CVT and easily pulls its 104kg kerb weight. The cylinder has 2 valves on the head and sports carburetor system for fuel delivery.

The engine and transmission combination of the Ray ensures smooth throttle response and a jerk free ride quality.

Yamaha Ray Mileage

Yamaha Ray has a 5l fuel tank and the reserve capacity is 1l. Combined fuel efficiency of this scooter is 43kmpl and it will run for 215km on a single tank of petrol.

Yamaha Ray Performance and Handling

Yamaha Ray is designed with underbone chassis with telescopic front suspension and unit swing rear suspension. The braking quality is excellent considering both the brakes are 130mm drums on 10 inch steel rims.

It comes with a 12V, 5AH battery, 12V, Halogen bulb in the headlight and a pass switch for convenience. It reaches 60kmph in 12 seconds which is a bit disappointing, but okay when you realize its purpose is running around the city.
