Yamaha VMAX Overview
Massive proportions, even massive power and an attitude to go with it, Yamaha VMAX is a charming motorcycle to own. Built as a mix of a sportbike and a cruiser, the VMAX is absolutely bonkers as a machine. The powerful V4 engine has a bucket loads of torque and it pulls violently from any speeds in any gear you fancy. A truly mad life-affirming bike. There aren't much in terms of competition in front of the VMAX, except the Ducati Diavel, which still cannot match the lunacy.
Yamaha VMAX Engine & Transmission
The 4-cylinder engine is arranged in a V format and it produced 197bhp of power. What is even more intriguing is the 166.8Nm of peak torque that the VMAX generates, and a wonderful chassis to accommodate all that grunt. The transmission however is a five speed box, and it might sound like one decade less than what is acceptable these days, but is necessary as all that torque might just break the 6th cog. The VMAX thus has a smooth, very powerful and torquey engine, with a transmission that matches the engine's eagerness.
Yamaha VMAX Mileage
Seriously, we believe you will not be much interested in the fuel efficiency of this motorcycle. Even if you do consider this parameter, the mad VMAX will return nearly 11.5kmpl on a combined cycle.
Yamaha VMAX Performance and Handling
The performance from this Yamaha for all practical reasons is unnerving. For a 0-100kmph time of 2.5seconds, this bike is up there with the fastest accelerating machines on the market. But if you have the courage and expertise to tame all those horses, it can actually be used every day, such is the tractability of the engine. Handling is good for the size and weight of this bike, but keep in mind this is not a sports bike, more of a hugely powerful cruiser.
