Why Yamaha R15 is offered with less engine displacement?
Why it is made in less bhp and cc?
It’s all Yamaha’s marketing strategy, they have kept the price of Yamaha R15 lowest comparative to other R series bikes so that maximum people can afford to buy it but simultaneously they have offered the engine displacement of 149.8cc (produces maximum power of 17PS/ 8,500rpm and maximum torque of 15N.m / 7,500rpm) to maintain their margin, if you want more engine displacement and power then Yamaha R3 is also an option as it has a engine displacement of 321cc but it will cost you around the three times the price of Yamaha R15 as the ex-showroom price in New Delhi (as on 31.08.2015) of Yamaha R15 is Rs. 1,14,241 while of Yamaha R3 is Rs. 3,25,000
