Why does my 2000 model Audi A4 make noise when it starts?

There may be many possible reasons of car making noise during start-up, so I cannot say anything for sure about your car without checking it in person. The common causes of noise from the car when you turn it on are - some components like piston rings gets wear over time and must expand with engine heat before they will work properly. Broken or improperly installed starter. Noise from engine pistons, Noise from slipping or worn belt or pulley. Noise from hose. Some valve might be sticking and engine also makes noise if some part of it doesn’t receive oil at start-up. I advise you to take your car to your local Audi service center or to some skilled mechanic for proper diagnosis and solution.
