Audi India launched the Audi A5 amidst a lot of hue and cry. The BratPack, as Audi calls it, drove in with two variants; A5 Sportback and A5 Cabriolet. With the Audi A5 images itself can one make out that it is basically a sportier version of A4.With a sportback roof design and a 2.0 L diesel engine that powers the A4, Audi A5 reviews decently well. It is based on the MLB platform and uses the popular Audi Quattro all-wheel drive. Overall, the Audi A5 has an uppish feel to it, whether you consider the ride quality, drive, cabin comfort or design. In other words, if you’re looking for something that is stylish and sporty while is a driver’s delight at the same time, then Audi A5 might just be the one for you.

Audi A5 exterior is designed to lure you. With its flamboyant looks and all the right cures as well as contours, the Audi A5 2017 pleases the eye. The doors are frameless while the all-LED headlights illuminate as per the changing climatic cycles.Along with this, the power-packed sedan gets twin exhaust setup for its Sportback version whereas the Cabriolet version gets two doors and an open retractable soft top. Audi A5 exterior colors include Moonlight Blue, Daytona Grey, Matador Red, Navarra Blue, Floret Silver, Argus Brown and Gotland Green.

Audi A5 interiors follow the trademark finesse with wooden inserts, three-zone automatic climate control, and the Audi MMI touchscreen that lets you adjust the vehicle settings, access your media, maps and more. The slight drawback for Audi A5 can be that it is a little low. One has to duck quite a bit to get in. The Cabriolet has a height of 1383mm whereas the Sportback is 1384mm tall and the headroom in the cabin for both is around 1015mm. The feel inside is all sophisticated though we would have liked some splendour here as well; owing to the fact that it is a sportier vehicle.

Audi A5 specifications include a 2.0TDI engine that has been borrowed from the Audi A4. The engine is mated with Audi’s classic seven-speed dual clutch transmission, which can deliver a power of 190bhp between 3800– 4200rpm and a torque close to 400Nm between 1750– 3000rpm. The engine is light and one would definitely love to cruise in this vehicle; however, looking at the sporty design and outlook, at times, one would be left wanting more out of the car.

The Audi A5 Sportback mileage comes around to be 19.2kmpl with the automatic transmission, whereas the Cabriolet should deliver about 17.2kmpl.

To no one’s surprise, Audi A5 variants are fully packed with braking and safety features, like front and side airbags, passenger airbags, ABS, EBD, brake and hill assist, ESP, traction control, etc. The car gets all-weather LED headlights also.

The acceleration of the vehicle allows it to go from 0 – 100kmphin around 7.9seconds.Audi A5 features like brake assist, traction control, ABS, etc., ensure that one has a good grip on the vehicle at all times. A5 handles well but it definitely misses the sporty spark; however, as a cruiser, the vehicle is a winner.

With a cabin space of 923mm rear seating, the sedan can be termed as quite low. However, if you don’t mind that then there is hardly anything that you can complain about in the Audi A5. It has an impressive ride quality and an appealing cabin, while the engine would please more or less all those who lay their hands on the vehicle.

With the Audi A5 price in India, it competes with the likes of Mercedes E-Class LWB and BMW 5 Series. Overall, Audi takes the cake when it comes to fuel efficiency, slick controls, cabin design and boot space. However, one would love for it to have a more fun drive than what it does currently.
