Audi Q3 30 TFSI Premium Description
The SUV segment is booming big time in India and to leverage that growth, car makers are entering into this segment. The German luxury carmaker Audi has launched the petrol version of its Q3 2.0 litre TDI Diesel. This also marks the debut of the petrol engine in the Audi Q range and provides an additional choice to the customers. While the Q2 diesel has two drivetrains – Front Wheel and All-Wheel, the petrol version comes with a front wheel drive setup. With the addition of Audi Q3 1.4 TFSI, the Audi lineup has got more dynamic than before.
Audi Q3 30 TFSI Premium ExteriorIn terms of styling, the new Audi Q3 carries the same silhouette as its predecessor and it maintains its coupè-like appearance. It’s a posh crossover that’s bigger and taller than the A3, but despite its appearances, it’s not quite as full-figured as the Q5.The design changes in the exterior include a redesigned bumper underlining the character of the Audi Q3, thanks to its sharper lines and its striking shape. The new air inlets in the front bumper give the car a rugged and aggressive character. The side profile flaunts 17-inch cast aluminium alloy wheels, which look rather classy.
Audi Q3 30 TFSI Premium InteriorEnter the Q3’s gorgeous cabin and you get a whiff of luxury. The colours in the cabin are also tasteful, lending both airiness and inducing a luxury feel. The dashboard has great quality all over with the fit and finish also being great. The cabin comes equipped with Walnut Balsamic Brown inlays and leather or leatherette seat upholstery, which lends a sense of class to the cabin. You have more than enough legroom in the front and back, and a good amount of headroom. The leather-wrapped steering wheel is a joy to hold. The air conditioner is very efficient and chills the cabin in no time. The boot is very accommodating with 460 litre of capacity.
Audi Q3 looks fresh with the latest updates and comes with a host of standard features, including Panoramic Sunroof, Cruise Control, Audi’s ‘Deluxe’ Dual-Zone Auto Climate Control, LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED Headlamps, etc., to name a few. The multimedia infotainment system has a new updated user interface, which gets better screen resolution, and offers bluetooth, USB, CD, DVD and AUX connectivity, and navigation along with voice command system, which can be operated through the steering-mounted controls. The crystal clear audio quality is just superb and lifts your mood with its pleasing acoustics.
Audi Q3 30 TFSI Premium Engine & TransmissionUnder the hood of the Audi Q3 1.4 TFSI rests the same 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine as in A4 and A3, which discharges peak power of 150bhp and peak torque of 250Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed S-Tronic automatic gearbox that distributes the torque output to the front wheels. The new Audi Q3 accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 8.9 seconds. It assures powerful performance with reduced emissions.
Audi Q3 30 TFSI Premium MileageAudi claims that the Q3 1.4 TFSI is capable of returning 16.9 kmpl. The car is also featured with regenerative braking mechanism, which increases the generator voltage and converts kinetic energy into usable electrical energy when the vehicle is coasting or braking. This energy is used to assist the generator during subsequent acceleration; as per the company, this saves up to 3% fuel.
Audi Q3 30 TFSI Premium Braking and SafetyBraking responsibilities are handled by disc brakes on all four corners and they ensure confidence-inspiring braking. The SUV also comes loaded with 6 airbags, ABS, ESP, EBD, Brake Assist, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Assist, among other active and passive safety tech, including Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Engine Immobilizer, Remote Central Locking, Speed Sensing Door Lock, etc.
Audi Q3 30 TFSI Premium Performance and HandlingThis car simply has the best balance of ride quality and handling in its segment. The power delivery is seamless; it’s easy to drive and if you give the accelerator a prod, the Q3 is quick to waft forward. The engine has plenty of low-end pep, which helps in low speed driving. The 1.4-liter engine has good performance for the city as the autobox makes driving in stop-go traffic a breeze. The power steering is direct, weighs up correctly, and is responsive at both low and high speeds. Most bumps and imperfections are absorbed with ease, and no more than a muted thud is sent into the cabin. The tyres have good levels of grip and the car feels predictable while diving into corners.
Audi Q3 30 TFSI Premium VerdictThe Q3 1.4 TFSI ticks most of the right boxes for buyers, and comes with a good mix of luxury and performance. Highly frugal and efficient petrol engine gives additional choice to the customers. The car competes with BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA.
