Why is Audi Q7 so famous in luxury SUV segment? Range Rover is a good option over Audi Q7?

Audi Q7 is the flagship model of the German luxury car manufacturer and is famous with many people in luxury SUV segment. Retailing at around Rs 75 lakhs, the SUV completes with the likes of BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz ML and few of the land Rovers. Yes you are right in terms that Land Rover are better looking SUVs and have very distinctive feature lists. But Audi is a much renowned brand here in India. Also Audi Q7 is more of a chauffuer driven car whereas Land Rover is more of a driver's car. BMW on the other hand is feature rich and very rugged vehicle. Unfortunately many people don't go for Mercedes Benz SUV's as neither they are very good looking, nor they offer very good value for money proposition.

Land Rover Range Rover is surely a better vehicle for it comes with added features and a powerful engine. Cost wise, it is simply double than its nearest Audi Q7 rival. But Audi Q7 is quite spacious and has more aficionados going for it. The greater power of Land Rover means it has lesser of a mileage than Audi Q7. Overall, Audi Q7 has more of an appeal among the celebrities.

But it is the Land Rover SUV that takes the cake in terms of features and engine power. The engine of Land Rover churns out power and torque to the tune of 335.3bhp at 3500rpm and 740Nm between 1750 – 2300rpm compared to 241.4bhp at 3800 – 4400rpm and 550Nm between 1750 to 2300rpm respectively. 

When comparing Audi Q7 and Land Rover Range Rover, it is the latter that stands out. The reason extends from being pricier (almost double) and a more powerful engine to more space and features. Range Rover has as a greater displacement (4367cc versus 2967cc) to a greater acceleration (just 6.9 seconds to reach 100Kmph to 7.8 seconds for Audi Q7). 

Both SUVs are very good in their segment. Audi is renowned brand and very well known across the world for their high end luxury vehicles, aggressive and stylish appearance and high performance engine. On the other hand Land Rover Range Rover is well known for their high end luxury SUVs which comes with a very heavy price tag.

In the luxury SUV segment Audi has launched its SUVs with comparatively low price tag. Its top end Sports utility vehicle Audi Q7 is available between the price range of Rs 65 – Rs 80 lakhs. On the other hand Range Rover comes between the price range of Rs 1.8 Crores to 3.8 Crores.

No doubt Land Rover Range Rover is much more powerful and luxurious than Audi Q7 but its heavy price tag makes it very difficult for every one to afford it. It is priced almost three times than the Audi Q7. While Audi Q7 comes with most of the required luxury features with comparatively low price tag. Also, the brand name Audi is enough to give the feel of luxury at three times less price.

Audi is more popular brand world wide as compared to Land Rover Range Rover. Audi has build its brand image across the globe with their high budget marketing campaigns, innovative stylish and aggressive designs and high performance engine. They offers the blend of comfort and luxury at low price as compared to Land Rover range Rover.

When it comes to Luxury SUV segment, there are only a few players to choose from. Audi is one of the prominent ones and its Q7 is the preferred choice for the majority of buyers. The Land Rover's brand Range Rover is no doubt at the top and way ahead in popularity than Q7. However, given the much lower price, capacious interiors, and almost same engine specs, Q7 is real value for your buck in comparison to Range Rover.
