BMW 1-Series Sedan PreviewThe spy shots of camouflaged 1 series sedan (codename F52) that’s under development have been doing rounds on the internet and the car has been snapped multiple times in China. The name of the car has not yet been confirmed and neither has BMW revealed if the car would eventually make its way into India, but considering that entry-level sedans from competitors like Mercedes CLA and Audi A3 have great demand, it’s expected that car would make its way into Indian market. The car would fill the gap between its current offerings in India and would be positioned between 1 series hatch and 3 series sedan.
From the BMW 1 series images that have leaked so far, it appears that they are inspired from the X1 and 2 Series active tourer, and BMW 1 series interiors have an identical steering wheel and layout for buttons. Along with 50:50 weight split that BMW always tries to achieve, BMW 1 series features of the production models should have modern headlamps with DRLs among the trademark kidney grille, the rear would have LED taillamps and dual exhausts.
Since the car’s under development, BMW 1 series reviews are not out yet. However, it’s expected that BMW 1 series 2016 would be one of the hottest launch of the year.
BMW 1 series sedan Engine & Transmission

The car has been built to support the front wheel drive architecture and is developed to support new 1 series hatch that presently sold in India. The BMW 1 series specifications would be departure from the BMW’s philosophy that it had so far employed for efficient dynamics. This will the make it the first ever front wheel drive sedan from BMW. It’s likely that the chassis has been developed to support an all-wheel drive system too.

From two petrol engine, you can expect mileage in the range of 14-18kmpl while from the turbo diesel motor that would certainly be more frugal and should offer mileage in the range of 20-23kmpl.
