In terms of safety BMW offers a good deal for its riders. The new ! series is equipped with all the safety features what one can expect from his car. Satarting from the Disk brakes and anti lock braking system, with rear parking sensor, center locking, front airbags with additional airbags installed at the side also. It has brake assist and seat belt warning. So there is no compromise on the safety side at all. One I feel is it should be having cruise control and rear side airbags also.
I am agreeing with the above users comment, the new BMW 1 series is really well equipped, if we leave couple of features then it has all the rest into it. Automatic Xenon headlamps with the day and night mirror, follow me home headlamps, centrally mounted fuel tank, traction control and a lot more like engine immobilizer, crash sensor, seat belt warning, door ajar warning. I do have the same feeling as of the two users above have. BMW 1 series is a great vehicle in terms of safety and security of its driver and passengers. The driver has been taken care well rather than the rear seat passenger. The BMW should not gamble with the safety of rear passenger. Rear side airbags are not a big deal for a car priced with 32 Lakhs of rupees. Rear camera and anti theft alarm is not there, really, I wonder why these small facilities are not present in the car.
I am completely agreed with my friend argument of not having basic things what a car of 12-15 Lakhs is there with. But we should see the list equipments being provided by BMW. It has a big list on board. It is equipped with 6-airbags where it should have 8-airbags, but that is fair enough. It has parking assist, door ajar warning and engine immobilizer. BMW 1 series has nice sufficient features installed.
I am finding above answer as helpful. The new BMW is a great car in terms of safety and security also. It is equipped with good features like child safety, airbags, engine immobilizer and a lot more. In terms of braking and safety it has ventilated disk brakes with brake assist and anti lock braking system. What I feel is it should have hill assist and crash sensor and child lock.
