Just bought 18 BMW 330i sedan, auto transmission. I rest my right hand on the shifter as a habit. What if I accidentally put the car in park while driving (by hitting the P button) or is this function blocked while at speed?

Resting hands on gear shifters are not recommended as it will sooner or later harm gear shifters, accidentally changing the gear to P or L while driving will surely harm gearbox resulting in gear tooth break or axle break or any major harm to the gearbox is a possibility.

Think i have been done dirty by recent mechanic, he says the filled the oil up with top of the line oil and this and that but my computer reads that it needs plus 1L and before the service i had it around the max level as i filled up myself recently. I opened up the bonnet and checked inside the engine for oil with a flashlight and there was oil as far as i could see. Just wondering if you can visually see the oil level in the engine if you open up the cap and look inside?
