BMW 7-Series (2008-2016) Overview

The renowned luxury car maker,BMW, Has recently launched the limited edition BMW 7 Series in India. This standalone car boasts of some spectacular features. This new series is more stylish, feel more airy from inside and produces few more units of horsepower compared to its predecessors.

It comes to India in three petrol versions namely 740Li, 750Li and 760Li and one diesel version namely 730Ld.

BMW 7-Series (2008-2016) Exterior

The right curves and the right bends make BMW 7-Series an absolute stunner to look at. It arguable has the most elegant design structure. The front fascia of the car has a dangerously charming design that depicts aggressiveness. The well sculpted headlamps are in perfect symmetry with the kidney shaped front grille.

The side profile has wheel arches that blend seamless with the overall design and the chrome lining of the front grille looks beautiful. The rear has decent design aesthetics too with tail lamps that extend from the rear framework to the boot.

BMW 7-Series (2008-2016) Interior

The interiors of BMW 7-Series are remarkable in design. It is an unmatched pleasure to sit in this car. All the variants flaunt more or less the same interiors. The power steering ahs cruise buttons on it along with the vibrant BMW logo. The front dash has a large screen for not just music and other controls but for internal controls also.

The screen features the BMW Connected Drive features like the Hi-Fi system, park distance control for front and rear, BMW’s personalized internet browser and other simplifies options. The rear row has folding tables and the seating is amply spaced and offer good legroom and headroom. Overall, ambience speaks of top-class luxury.

BMW 7-Series (2008-2016) Engine & Transmission

BMW 7-Series is available in three petrol variants and one diesel variant. The 740Li petrol version has a 2979cc engine with 6 cylinders and 24 valves. The mid range 750Li has a twin turbo 4.4 litre V8 engine while the 760Li sports a twin turbo 6.0 litre V12 engine. The BMW 7 Series 740Li emits a power of 320bhp at 5800rpm while the 750Li offers a maximum output of 450bhp at 5500rpm. The high end vehicles of this series churn out an astounding 544bhp at 5250rpm. The torque produced by the cars is a massive 450Nm at 1300rpm to 4500rpm, offered by 740Li and 650Nm torque offered by 750Li at 2000rpm to 4500rpm. The higher remains the torque produced by 760Li version at 750Nm at 1500rpm to 5000rpm.

BMW 7-Series (2008-2016) Mileage

Each of the three petrol variant s and one diesel variant has their individual mileage figures. The mileage offered by 750Li stands at 11.62kmpl, that offered by 760Li stands at a comparatively lower 7.46kmpl. The highest is recorded by the 740Li variant. The reasonable mileage offered by the car is one of the reasons for its success in India. Also, the emission levels of this vehicle are quite low.

BMW 7-Series (2008-2016) Braking and Safety

The car sports a highly ventilated disc type of a braking mechanism for the front wheels. It also features an antilock braking system along with an electronic brake force distribution system to offer complete control over brakes. A long list of protective features on BMW 7-Series make sure that each ride is perfectly safe. The brake control in BMW 7-Series is facilitated by features like ABS and brake drying and fading compensation. It also has a concerning brake control system. The car has multiple airbags, a run flat indicator with run flat tyres and a safety body shell. The rear seat belts flaunt 3 point seat belts for all seats while the front seats have a reel inertia seat belts that come with a belt force limiter and belt latch tensioners. Other safety features on this vehicle include dynamic stability and traction control, a warning triangle with first aid kit, active front head rests etc.
