- Pros: good styling and amazing power engine
- Cons: lacks rear headroom
BMW 6 series Gran Coupe has striking features, classy and comfortably luxurious interiors, and it’s available with a range of excellent engines. The diesel is particularly impressive, combining strong performance with excellent fuel economy. So far, I’ve only driven Gran Coupes with optional rear-wheel steering and Active Drive, which uses electronically controlled anti-roll bars to limit body lean in corners. These help the car belie its five-metre length and substantial bulk in corners, while the adjustable dampers allow you to alter the ride comfort. It’s an effective combination, but it’s galling that BMW charges so much for these extras on a car that’s already so expensive. Also, the safety and security measures have also been taken care of very nicely.
