BMW X2 Preview
The BMW X-Series has been an instant success in the Indian luxury car market, thanks to the wide range of engine options, luxury features and reliable performance factors. The BMW X2 would be launched in India in near future. The upcoming BMW X2 design would be based on the concept of X1 and X3 models, and will come with larger dimensions as compared to the X1 Series models. The exteriors will have new headlights with daytime running lights and new design of radiator grilles with chrome surrounds. The interiors would be loaded with the new dual-tone interior scheme, advanced technology instrument cluster and the central console with touchscreen infotainment system. The safety features of airbags at the front, side and curtain airbags, park assist system, and driver alert system would be featured as a standard.
BMW X2 Exterior
The BMW X2 exterior would be designed in line with the X-Series concept and it will have dimensions larger than the X1 model and shorter than the X3 model. The new BMW X2 exteriors will have a bolder and sharper design of the bonnet, aerodynamic body design, and fenders with muscular contours, giving a dynamic first impression. The side body will have larger door panels, smooth flow design of the window panel and roof line, and body-coloured ORVMs with electric fold function. At the rear, BMW X2 will have tail lamps with LED, reflectors and parking sensors on the rear bumper, chrome tip for the exhaust tailpipe, and a stylish rear spoiler giving a distinctive on the road image.
BMW X2 Interior
The BMW X2 interiors would feature driver and co-passenger seats with power adjust and memory function. The seats, steering wheel, gear shifter knob and arm rests will have leather upholstery. The comfort features of automatic air conditioning system with three zone climate control can be expected. The centrally-mounted touchscreen display infotainment system with navigation, multiple DVD player smartphone interface and surround sound system would be featured, assuring a superior quality of entertainment.
BMW X2 Engine & Transmission
The BMW X2 would be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering a power of 190PS. The diesel version will have three options of the 2.0-litre engine delivering power of 148PS, 187PS and 227PS power outputs, respectively. The transmission will have options of six-speed manual gearbox and six-speed automatic transmissions, and the drive will be connected to all wheels.
BMW X2 Mileage
The ARAI-claimed BMW X2 mileage would range at 14kmpl on an average. The actual mileage figures can vary depending upon the final combination of drive train, drive mode selection and overall weight of the vehicle.
BMW X2 Braking and Safety
The BMW X2 braking system will have disc brakes on all wheels with ventilated calipers. The braking efficiency would be enhanced with the anti-lock braking system and brake assist system for effective braking over slippery surfaces. The surround protection of the occupants would be assured with airbags at the front for the driver and co-passenger, front side airbags, rear curtain airbags, and three-point seatbelts with pre-tensioner and load limiter for all seats. The safety features of driver alert system, pedestrian protection system, and park assist system with rear view cameras and sensors would be featured in this model.
BMW X2 Performance and Handling
The high power output and the quick development of torques at much lower RPM can propel the car to reach top speeds in the shortest possible time. The drive mode selection of Eco, Normal, Comfort, Power and Sport modes would be offered, enabling the driver for selecting the appropriate mode suiting the driving conditions. The driving characteristics would be further enhanced with the electronic stability control system, traction control system and cruise control system, and power-adjustable driver seats assisting for a comfortable posture and pleasant experience of long drives.
