Renalut Fluence offers tough competion for Cruze with almost similar price range. With superb body styling and the image it projects on the customers leaves a strong impression. However technically Cruze has more power and torque outpu. Fluence has 1461 cc engine delivering power of 110PS and Torque of 240Nm. Chevrolet Cruze has 2.0L diesel engine delivering power of 166PS and 340NM Torque. Cruze also featues much advanced technical equipments. Luxurious interiors, very spacious dickey space and drive quality with siperior quality of steering and suspension gear change mechanism boosts up image of Cruze. If spending bit extra is not a constraint, Cruze can make better selection.

Both the Chevrolet Cruze and the Renault Fluence belong to that segment of cars which is known as the premium sedan segment in India. The Cruze certainly has the bigger engine and thus it is more powerful and have more torque than the Fluence. However, it is the Renault Fluence which is bigger inside. The ride quality of Renault Fluence is better than that of Cruze. The Cruze though comes lighter on the pocket.
I agree with my Friend. I have the Cruze and one of my friend recently purchased Renault Fluence. I have driven both the cars and I feel Fluence is more spacious and its engine is less grumpy at lower rpms. Fluence's diesel mill sound more refined than the Cruze's. Further, I noticed that Fluence is a bit quicker in third gear than the Cruze. I do not find the price difference so big that it may sway your decision. But, I definitely find Cruze a much better looking sedan than Fluence
Though falling in the same price range, Renault Fluence is a slightly bigger car than Chevrolet Cruze. It comes with a lower capacity engine of 1461cc comapred to 1998cc engine of Chevrolet Cruze. Generating lower power output and torque, Renault Fluence gives a better fuel efficiency. Chevrolet Cruze, on the other hand, gives better acceleration and pickup. It is also available in a automatic variant which is missing in Renault Fluence.
Adding to the above comparision, I would like to add that we can’t ignore the styling and features. These are also important aspects of a car. Out of the two cars, Chevrolet has more peppy and contemporary styling whereas Renault Fluence has more understated styling. In terms of features, they are almost at par with each other. Finally it depends upon personal preferences and needs to choose one car over the other.
Renault FLUENCE is definitely a tough competition for Chevrolet CRUZE. Even though both the premium sedans are equally magnificent, CRUZE has a better power and torque output. Fluence has 1461 cc engine delivering power of 110PS and Torque of 240Nm while Chevrolet CRUZE has 2.0L diesel engine delivering power of 166PS and 340NM torque. Even if we look at FLUENCE’s bigger interior I find CRUZE a better selection due to its better finish power as well as luxury. Further it gives a better acceleration and pick up than Renault and is also available in automatic variant which Renault lacks.
