|The Chevrolet has now tapped the largest and still growing segment in the Indian auto market with launching an all-new premium hatchback the Sail U-VA. The car has a lot of competition already in the form of Renault Micra, Honda Jazz, Ford Figo, Fiat Punto, Tata Indica and also some heavyweights like Maruti Suzuki Swift and Volkswagen Polo. Sail hatchback has a similar 1.3L Fiat multijet engine which is today very common among this segment. Apart from this it is the biggest in the segment and boasts of a best compromise of handling and ride quality. But since a lot of cost cutting is done the car should be a little bit cheaper than its contemporaries.|
The 1300cc approx. diesel engine by Smartech technology is similar to the engines used in its competitors like Maruti Suzuki Swift, Indica Vista and Fiat Punto. Though they are identical its costing is bit lesser than that of those. In case of suspension Chevy U-VA is behind in the race and do not deliver softer suspension like i20, Maruti Suzuki Swift or even Ford Figo. The practical approach of Chevy U-VA towards budget customers draws it back in interior style and luxury.
Chevrolet Sail Hatchback locks horns with a number of cars in the same segment in India, however, the mighty rivals of this car are Maruti Suzuki Swift, which comes with a 1.2L engine with a max power of 83.14bhp and delivers 15.6kmpl in city and 20.4kmpl on highway. Another contender is Hyundai Grand i10, which runs on the same 1.2L engine and it cranks of a meaty power of 81.86bhp. The fuel-efficiency of i10 is 15.9 kmpl in city and 18.9kmpl on long revs. The price of i10 is Rs.6.4 Lakh while the Swift costs Rs. 6.3 Lakh.
The new Chevrolet Sail UVA has been launched in very competitive segment which is flooded with the so many high performance cars. Though, the new Chevrolet Sail UVA is performing very well, but it is facing very tough competition from Volkswagen Polo, Renault Pulse, Nissan Micra, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Fiat Punto, Hyundai i20 and Honda Brio.
