Both Swift Dzire and Sail feature the same 1248 cc 4 cylinder diesel engine supplied by Fiat. However there is slight modification in each as per requirements of manufacturer. In Sail diesel turbocharge technology is used for enhancing performance. Performance of both petrol and diesel variants are good and highly reliable. Swift Dzire has advantage of wider service network, excellent resale value. Chevrolet somehow lags in those two parameters. Comparatively Sail looks more updated than Swift Dzire in terms of exterior features, body design and glossy effect of paint and lot more. Also number of Swift Dzire available in used car segment is lot more than Sail diesel. To select one, Swift DZire would be better option.

I think a new Swift Dzire will be a better alternative to go with rather than picking up a used Chevrolet Sail as it is hard to get one or two years old Sail at a price of 4 to 5 Lakh, however the new Swift’s diesel trims come with price range of Rs. 6.5 to 8 Lakh and the experience of having a new car will be incredible. The other key factor is the low fuel-efficiency of only 18.9 and 22.1kmpl of Sail cannot beat Swift’s 22.4 and 26.59kmpl.

Moderately Sail looks more updated than Swift Dzire in terms of exterior features, body design and glossy effect of paint and lot more.
