Datsun Go-Cross PreviewNissan’s low cost auto brand, Datsun is readying a new crossover christened Go-Cross MPV which is based on the same platform which Go+ MPV underpins. The concept version of the crossover was revealed at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Exteriors features body cladding that lends the crossover a rugged stance. Skid plates are also seen outside and the ride height has been raised substantially. Front fascia gets quad head lights, LED lights are integrated inside the air dams equipped on lower bumper. Roof rails are affixed on the top of the crossover, the sharp window line on the side brings assertiveness to the exteriors. Alloy wheels are mounted on all four tyres which are relatively larger in size. Rear features a large bumper with body cladding; there is a prominent skid plate too along with a sporty spoiler.
Go-Cross Engine & TransmissionDatsun has not revealed any information regarding the engine set, but most likely the car maker will roll out Go-Cross in petrol and diesel engine options. As mentioned above, there is yet no clarity whether Datsun will use the same engine which power Go+ MPV or will it house new engines.
Go-Cross Expected MileageSince there is yet no information on the engine configuration, hence we cannot comment of the efficiency. But since India is a mileage conscious market, expect the new offering from Datsun to be frugal, at least the diesel version should yield good numbers.
Go-Cross Expected PriceDatsun, being the low cost brand of Japanese auto major Nissan will price the upcoming Go-Cross viably, making it available to the mass segment at an affordable price. It is expected that Go-Corss’ range may start from Rs 4.50 lakh and go up to Rs 6.50 lakh for the top-spec variant.
Go-Cross Expected launch dateLaunch could take place post Auto Expo early next year by the mid of 2017.
