Founded in 1899 by a group of investors belonging to Italy (including the famous entrepreneur Giovanni Agnelli), Fiat (Fabbrica Itlaiana Automobili Torino) boasts of a century long history. The first Fiat branded vehicle was produced in the year 1901. It acquired several other companies and formed many partnerships with big brands like Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Lancia, and Chrysler. The company is engaged in the manufacture of a large range of vehicles including commercial vehicles, trucks and buses. Since the year 2000, the company has produced many models like Stilo, Idea, Punto, Croma, Doblo and Linea. Fiat cars are produced in several countries including Poland, France, China, Brazil, Egypt, Argentina, South Africa and Turkey. Today, it is the second largest company in the automobile sector in terms of number of products produced every year.
Fiat began its operations in India in 1997 with its models like 1100 and 124. So far, the company has offered many decent cars like Palio, Linea, Avvnetura, Punto EVO, etc.
